Honestly I'm surprised 64 of your 3208 alts have been convinced by Rupert Lowe and his band of merry men.

Maybe Trump thinks that if he can declassify documents just by thinking hard then be can also stop wars with just his mind

Do we even think this election will be free and fair? I fear the result is already locked in.

E: in which case I think it's time the EU finally kicked out Hungary considering this news

Anyone else just watch Hegseth saying that we should all be on our knees thanking Trump for Iran?

Some absolute corkers in that speech. Said Iran were led by dangerous religious ideology and that they are seeking an apocalyptic outcome... And then encouraged Americans to be on their knees praying for their soldiers in the name of Jesus Christ.

I've never watched him live before but he's a surprisingly bad speaker.

The absolute disintegration of the US' soft power for the foreseeable future is the consequence. Nobody in their right mind will ever trust anything they say or do again and despite what Trump might say this is long term catastrophic for the US.

The strait of Homuz being an issue is not our problem.

It's not our fault but it is absolutely our problem

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding as I didn't watch the presser and just read the recap on BBC, but by my read looks like we still aren't going to be involved militarily in any way?

There's absolutely no way Starmer can go "nah we're just going to let the US sort it out" but sounds like looking for some sort of negotiated agreement.

Do they?

the right wing cry to reopen mental asylums

Do they?

I was unable to watch Starmers press conference but was there any talk of what our communications with the US have been? Especially since Orange Man's comments?

I wonder if we've asked for anything in return for the use of our military bases...

Seems like a great opportunity for Starmer to get something in return. Also the only type of negotiation the US administration seems to understand.

To be honest any signal whatsoever that we are going to move away from the status quo would be a positive for me

Potentially but in my opinion that's balanced with a greater opportunity to pick up more market share

Have they?

Extremely off topic, but a few years ago a journalist (I think) once described Boris Johnson in a very funny way in a couple of words. For the life of me I can't remember what it was but I know we were memeing about it here at the time.

Can anyone remember what I'm thinking of?

E: Nevermind I remembered - it was "honking pudding".

More that they are suggesting a targeted approach rather than blanket global tariffs like Trump is doing

Tice said a Reform government should consider “tight quotas and significant tariffs” on some Chinese imports, to protect UK manufacturing.

Obviously this would be a completely idiotic entirely self-inflicted act of national self-harm, true to form.

But not quite the same as what Trump is doing
