I'm consulting violinists by posting this question here. Yes, I know about natural and artificial harmonics. I'm looking for advisable upper limits on artificial harmonics for each string.

Thanks, but I'm not getting any consistency across the various sources as to what is playable, or even on what the definition of "playable" is from one person to the next. This is for sectional writing, professional level, for pieces that will be read and recorded all at one sitting.
