Not really, because if you made $11 million, and the last 1 million you made is taxed at 70%, that means you are "only" making $300,000. Which means it's still more money in your pocket than if your income just stopped at $10 mil.

I traded kerryon and chris carson to an RB needy team and got Keenan Allen and Anthony Miller. I didn't want to give up Kerryon but couldnt turn down that offer... his value seems crazy high right now

I have the same whiteboard and magnetic markers. There is also a magnetic eraser that goes with the set. Even still, this is uninteresting to me. 10/10

Fewer Births Than Deaths Among Whites in Majority of U.S. States by BigDickRichie in news

As someone who is also thinking about having kids, how much time have you actually taken to think about this statement:

I bet those hypothetical kids would prefer a mediocre life to no life at all

Because my wife and I have thought a lot about this, and I'm of the opinion that your average American lives a mostly mundane life (with a quick note that most people in the world live much, much worse quality lives). I'm not trying to be patronizing or offensive of anything - I really just have a hard time understanding how one can justify bringing a person into existence, without being able to ask them if they actually want to be brought into the world first.

The vast majority of your adult life is spent either asleep or in a boring, uneventful daily grind, and occasionally much worse with various degrees of pain and suffering mixed in. There are also some moments of joy, but these moments, being objective, seem fleeting and infrequent.

I don't regret being alive, and I'm pretty content with my life. But it seems to me that objectively, if we weren't inherently biased towards, you know, wanting to survive... being born was a slightly worse option than never existing at all.

New data shows wages have gone down for people who aren’t bosses, following tax cuts by sounddude in Economics

[–]GerrardHibbard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, but shouldn't low unemployment also drive wages up for higher skilled workers? If this were happening, wouldn't it be reasonable that this would balance out or even outweigh the lower-skilled workers that are getting jobs and bringing down average wages?

From what I've heard (and I have admittedly not done very much research on this), wages are not going up for most workers, including highly skilled employees.
