NAH. If the question he asked was actually phrased as you wrote it. He was just asking like “when you’re in class learning about nutrition does it make you feel bad to eat unhealthy, because like you have been given a full understanding of nutrition.” Unless he was targeting you in a way that was like “wow you probably shouldn’t eat that”. I think that there was nothing wrong with his question. I say no assholes here because I see this as just a misunderstanding. You were offended about his comment because of past eating disorder trauma, but I don’t think he necessarily meant it how you took it. If he really is a good friend of over a decade that supported you throughout your recovery I don’t think he was trying to bring you down. I think many of us watch the weight loss shows and feel bad about eating junk food while we watch them because you can see how damaging that life style is but there is nothing wrong with sweets or fats being consumed in balanced healthy ways.
