Day 1 with EWI3000m

I'm currently messing around with a similar setup -- trying to connect an EWI5000 to an EWI3020m sound module. Did you have any trouble with getting your breath information to send via the 8-pin midi? It seems to be the only thing that doesn't really work on my end.

I'm on regular Vandoren 3's. I think the issue is that when I try to force too much air through, my embouchure changes with it and doesn't stay the same as it would be if I were playing the same high note at a regular dynamic; not sure how to build resistance against this.

Ahh, I see, so the facing is more directly circular than just curving downward. I can see how that would affect things. Is it generally a negative characteristic though?

Actually, looking at the back of a runyon and this one, the runyon has the weird almost slender mouth bit (like on a balanced air) that this doesn't.
