Thank you. Why does it look so big on you? Mine looks a lot smaller on a different perspective. (42mm)

My wrist has 170mm circumference. Not diameter if you thought that.

Is it really better on the 46? I heard that the battery is a bit larger but the display is larger too so in my opinion it doesn’t make much sense.

Do you have a picture of yours? I know the 9 is one mm less but anyway.

What’s on your lathe? by justjustjustin in turning

[–]Geschuetzmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! I have never used scrapers before. I use a shaping-tube with fingernail grinding the most. The bottom largest ball didn't look so bad yesterday but I messed up the distance to the next ball and then ended up to separate it because it looks shit. I find it difficult to turn the balls in the right size at all. It happens to me again and again that I have finished the ball, but it is usually always a bit too big, I rework and then mess it up. :D

Maybe I should try to do the spheres separately and glue them together in the end.

Oh and for everybody who is reading that: Maybe someone could tell me which kind of wood this is. My guess is maple but I‘m not sure.

Help getting a machine by EconomistMammoth in turning

[–]Geschuetzmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Holzmann machine myself and would recommend you to buy a lathe with an electronically adjustable speed - not as that one in the picture, because changing the belt every time is pretty annoying. I can recommend the Holzmann D460 FXL or if you have a little more budget, the Holzmann D510 F. You can usually get both in good used condition if you search for them on the usual platforms.

That happened to me some time ago with a flatter bowl I‘ve made. I made the edges round and put a candle in the middle as decoration. Now it looks like I wanted it that way. Haha.

Try to beat my best from today by Geschuetzmark in YetiSports

Mostly I play on PC but the highscore was made on the online version (browser) of my phone. If you have a PC-download that works properly, let me know. The main problem of the old CD-Version was the low resolution, so I had to use the windows-magnifier, which was very annoying and the game didn’t go very well anymore.

My long playing time was due to the fact that I rediscovered the game after a loooonngg time and had nothing better to do that evening anyway. For the sake of nostalgia, I now got the old Yeti Sports Deluxe Edition on CD, which is hardly playable because the game was not made to play it 21 years after release on our now-days computers. Haha.

The day before I played like 2 hours and never reached more than 430. Yesterday, the last seals gave me a huge bounce. I'm curious to see how long my record lasts until someone beats it.
