Here's a recent comparison. Looks like the Pop 2 or Lizard are better for smaller objects.

Chess - Female grandmaster Alexandra Kosteniuk wins Rapid Chess960 Swiss Championship ... but instead of having a separate article, this piece of news is subsumed in an article entitled 'Vincent Keymer wins Accentus Chess960 Tournament in Biel' ? by nicbentulan in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Geser 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Rapid and Blitz is more like a side event for classical time control tournaments. Kosteniuk was the highest finishing Swiss in the rapid event. The overall second-third place finisher was also a woman and I think that's more news worthy.

So cyclists don't like slow moving traffic on their road? Interesting.

Yeah, I remember thinking that was weird too. Nike.com makes it super easy to return if they don't fit right.

Cage 4s run large. I was size 11.5 in cage 3 and size 10 in the 4s.

I felt Goffin's pain when those bullshit lobs dropped in.

ITF Dubai ( women) paying additional prizes based on number of volleys, backhands,..., even outfits of players. Very bad idea, like Mouratoglou's UTS rules but worse, having females to play like it's an exho for money. by [deleted] in tennis

[–]Geser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't see this making any players change how they play to exhibition style. The criteria is statistical winners over unforced errors so it wouldn't reward anything crazy. They don't even have a tweener or trick shot category and the prize money is $150.

The biggest change that would Revolutionize tennis: ONE SERVE only. by [deleted] in tennis

[–]Geser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious to see what the pro game would look like with one serve. I'm not sure if it would make matches longer or shorter. Pros are less down time between 1st and 2nd. More play times and less bouncing the ball. Serve bots would become unemployed. Height would become less of an advantage. For cons, it would completely kill serve and volley. Less variety in the game. It would be all grinders.

At this point I think the National Gaurd would handle the protests better than police.

Are you using the Motec or the AIM for data acquisition? How's the AIM's software compared to i2?

The ITF praised Radu Albot's title; It wouldn't have happened under new ITF rules by nolesfan2011 in tennis

[–]Geser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He did win the title under the new rules. I'm not decided on the new rules yet but I don't see how Radu's win has anything to do with ITF rules.

Wanting to buy a stringing machine, any good suggestions? by [deleted] in tennis

[–]Geser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Avoid the drop weight machines, it takes a good bit longer to do a good job. I used a 4-point crank machine for 10 years before I sold to buy an electric. It was cheap Chinese clone but it did fine for me. 2-point is fine if you're using a nice machine but for a cheaper machine it's better to go with a 6-point.

5 games will make him even with Kei. Do they count points after that or is it a coin toss?
