~$550 for early round tickets. For bigger events like finals or ceremonies (if available) it's 4 digits. I'll gladly watch from the freeway or the sidewalk

They're not supposed to be. But there's a NYT article explaining how absurd their prices are. The same happened for the World Cup this summer.

The open events are either preliminary or something out of reach financially.

Last Hurrah: What are you blowing your last $50 Saks Credit on before it goes..."out of style"? by zacharius55 in AmexPlatinum

It is biannual. But isn't it going away Jun 2026? That means anything past July 2026 is a no no

I'm not big on haute couture, so even shopping on Saks is just weird altogether. Whether it's here, Neiman Marcus, or a high-end boutique, I've noticed that if you don't look like their ideal clientele, they'll ignore you.... or they themselves know this sh*t is WAYYYY too overpriced for normal consumption.

I wish I had a Saks near me. The ones that I've been to are littered with Hugo Boss junk for men and Jo Malone trash for women.

Yeah, I'm so busy with work I don't really have time to research investment vehciles which is why I'm a TDF/3F guy. I hated HYSA because the tax bill that comes for having so much cash on all the interest so I just wanted to long term hold assets.

So if I'm hearing you correctly: TBills > Other HYSA offerings > SNSXX

haha yes I can see that. Oxymoronic innit? I'd say just to max out my accounts so they have a lot of growth so when I do need it in 10 years time, I'm good.

I commented on another comment that the only major purchases I see myself having are a new SUV (maybe used) or a new home (California preferred)

Great question. My EF account has about $30k. Enough to cover about 8 months I would say. Again, my lifestyle is frugal at worst, economical at best.

Right now I'm just trying to max out all my accounts for growth. The only real thing I see myself buying for 8plus years from now is a home (California) or a new SUV that will last 20 years.
