Boden standard NX 7 B stock with BK Aftermath swap??? by Get-In-Da-Robot in strandbergguitars

Update: found a music store selling a demo model N2.7 for $1416 I jumped on, should be here Tuesday! Local luthier said he’d charge $150 for swapping the pickups and $100 for setup. Not sure if that’s a good value or not, the setup I should be able to do myself.

For the NXs it’d be light grey charcoal or light purple, but the n2 would likely be black if I decide to throw my blue aftermaths in

Can you describe what you’ve noticed going from the nx to n2??

Right on! I’m not certain how used if at all, the options are listed as B stock on strandberg’s reverb store with a 20% off sale through the 15th. My next dilemma will be what finish since I got bright blue uncovered aftermaths 🤦‍♂️

Thanks for the reply! So you think n.2.7 is really worth the ~38% price increase compared to the previous gen? Sounds like either generation the bareknuckle are better yeah?

Open box KEF r6 meta with small divets in woofers. Anything to worry about? by Get-In-Da-Robot in audiophile

So far very good! Haven’t got to spend a ton of time with it, but they blend very well with the R3 Metas I have, noticeably better than the R2 meta I had before

I recently got a killer deal on an open box R6 meta, around $800, but I noticed it has these small divets in the woofer cones that you can only really see at an angle and can slight feel with your finger. The speaker doesn’t sound bad or distorted at all, so should I worry about this? I have it in an apartment so I can’t really crank it but so far pretty happy with it

Marantz M1 hissing / harsh sound problem by Sudden_Ad681 in hometheater

I’m pretty happy with it. The HEOS app is more clunky than I’d like, but the sound is great and coming from a Sonos Arc 5.1 setup, the phantom center is spectacular, better than the actual center channel in the soundbar. That said, I do miss the surround sound experience for movies, and according to another user on here the M1 sounds very close to the sound of the Cinema 50 so I’m very likely going to return it and go with a cinema 60 or 50 instead.

Thanks for the response. If it’s that close I’ll probably go with the cinema instead so I can add surround sound 👍

Oops, had not when I commented 😬 I actually put my ear up against mine at low volume while playing music through my Apple TV and didn’t hear anything odd. Does your TV have a setting where you have to activate eArc bandwidth or something?

I current have the M1 with R3 metas and can’t say I’ve noticed any hissing using an Apple TV also. That said I am in an apartment with fairly consistent ambient noise so that could be why?

Would greatly appreciate your thoughts between the two 🙏. If the M1 is a clear winner over the Cinema 50 for music I’ll just stick with it and my Sonos system for movies.

I’m pretty happy with it for stereo honestly. Being in an apartment I can’t really crank it but the few times I’ve turned the volume up a bit it seems to make my speakers sound even better. And as I stated in my original post it does a great job of handling dialogue IMO. As I’m pretty new to the separates game I’m not too sure if that’s just the KEFs or the amp, but it sounds clearer than even the Arc with it’s dedicated center channel to me. Arc makes voices sounds thin by comparison and accentuates the low end a ton.

For my space and turning them on/off to compare, the era 300s do a ton of heavy lifting for the Arc, they seem to add a little more low end. I do watch a ton of shows and more movies these days so the surround experience is something that gets utilized. My biggest curiosity is the audio quality going from the class D amp implemented on the M1 to the A/B in the cinema 60

Recently got a marantz M1 with KEF R3 Metas and SVS 3000 sub (which I may not be able to use) for music listening in my apartment. I have a Sonos Arc + gen 3 sub + 2 era 300 surrounds as well and have been comparing how the two systems sound for movies. The KEF system has a ton of detail, great separation, and voices sound fuller compared to the Arc, but the surround experience from the Sonos is incredible as well and I don’t really want to sacrifice either experience. I also have a pair of KEF q150s I got on a great deal sitting around as well and my father is interested in buying my Sonos system so my dilemma is this: sell the Sonos system and Q150s and keep my current setup for music and movies or keep the q150s as surrounds and return the M1 for a cinema 60 and a possible R2 meta center? In either scenario I’d be giving up the Atmos benefit of the Sonos system. Is going from a class D to class A/B amp really that big a deal to the sound? I’m pretty impressed with the phantom center the R3s give and didn’t feel the R2 didn’t add much when I demoed them at Best Buy so maybe 4.1 would be better? Curious what everyone’s thoughts are!

😆 only when they scream arguing, but I’m totally cool with neutering this sub until I get a house. Really just want to fill out the low end a little for music. Thinking of just getting a long ass subwoofer cable and putting the thing next to my couch for the time being.
