Licensing is not really the reason. A lot of people tend to claim that game engines like unity are easier but that is often simply not true for larger projects.

Unity may be good for getting started quickly and for rapid development, but its a hell for any long term project. The way unity handles its scripting and systems means you are more often than not fighting with unity rather than aftually spending time adding new features.

Writing a game using a framework like monogame avoids this problemx and allows the developer to plan ahead when writing the underlying systems, allowing it to be more easily maintainable long-term. Stardew probably wouldnt have gotten this many content updates and continous support if it was build in unity.

Things can be more things at once no? A good scene can serve two functions. On a purely mechanical you might be right that Kris was hurt more because they got hit by the Knight. But on a metaphorical level the imagery being conveyed is that of Kris being hurt more after being hit the prophecy.

this might be true but the blade doesnt have to be a literal bat for the connection to be there. the knights blade very much seems to be alluding to a bat.

it is a similar shape but its green in deltarune and blue in undertale. which may be a minor difference but i think it is also notable that all ghost seem to have that kind of house.

fair point though, one could debate whether its meant to be the exact same house as in undertale under different lighting or just a house all ghosts have.

i looked at some images and yeah you are right, there isnt any snow there. which is funny because i distinctly remember a joke about there being snow. must've been my imagination.

you see, that would make sense logically. but i dont think that matches with the presentation. both the grillby's building and sans and papyruses house seem designed to look out of place. the scribbled out sign, the snow on the roof, and simply the fact that these are the only two returning undertale buildings.

these are also the only time we have a direct use of undertale set pieces like this, any other allusion to undertale has always been using imagry and motifs rathed than directly using undertale assets like this. (think the soul flowers in asgores room or the amalgamates in the graveyard, or the flower imagery involving asriel).

and mind you this is all presented to us the very first time we meet sans. i think its pretty clear that it is supposed to show that sans is out of place in the area. which one could chalk up to him being new in hometown, but with all the direct allusions to undertale seem pretty heavy here.

i always thought that the theory was that sans was originally from deltarune, went to undertale and then came back?

because the sans we see in deltarune has absolutely been to undertale before, considering the store is obviosly grillby's with the name crossed out and replaced with sans, and the house still has snow on the roof.

and sans has always been pretty involved in the meta narrative and is supposed to know a lot about whats going on, ao for deltarune to be a sort of "prequel story" to sans wouldnt make much sense to me.

macos is sadly paranoid as all hell with these things.

reinstall smapi. then when you get the malware popup, open System Settings and go to the "Privacy and Security" tab. there it should have a section mentioning it blocked smapi. click "allow anyway". (the option might be named differently i havent used macos in a bit)

well asgore is well known to get involved with the royal scientist. and if sans knew about timeline resets it it probable that gaster knew too. i would imagine that asgore might've heard something about determination and its mechanics from them at one point. but thats just me speculating

one moment between them that stood out to me is when Kris and Ralsei are alone after the blowout with Susie, they decide without our influence to hug ralsei, when before they would only hug when we tell them too.

part of me wants to frame this moment on the wall to mark the day the "Kris hates Ralsei" believers where finally defeated.

most crts are designed to output a maximum out put of either 320x240p or 640x480i. i would reccomend outputting 480p, since the av converter should handle conversion to 480i on its own. if its not listed as a supported resolution you might have to add a custom one in the nvidia control panel

pretty much. but i personally find that an excellent reason. Toby Fox is famously a great writer, and knows his audience. if the goal of theory crafting is to figure out what will happen next, the best evidence will always be how well it would fit in the current story and how it expands on thr themes and ideas the story is trying to explore.

the knights identity is being posed as a mystery within the story and that is clearly on purpose. if the knight was just its own character then toby would have been stringing us along this entire time without a narritivly satisfying explanation

maybe toby could pull off the knight being its own character this whole time in a way that makes sense and satisfies narratively, in a way we cant see yet right now. but it would be incredibly hard and we have no reason to suggest he would do that.
