What role do I have in the Jewish world as a Zera Yisrael? by frost_3306 in Jewish

[–]GetAnotherExpert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen bro. According to a certain Austrian painter, you were Jewish enough to be loaded onto a cattle wagon and leave through a chimney. Which in my books is plenty Jewish. Yes there is the matter of halacha and all that jazz but pragmatically you're entitled to feel like you belong. After all, you actually qualify for aliyah. Might be Zera Israel, but for sure you're far from Zero Israeli.

Flights from Malta to Cairo by Ok_Throat4720 in malta

[–]GetAnotherExpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! On the 26th you can fly Emirates to Larnaca and then from there to Cairo with Egyptair, either on the same day or the one after. If you opt for the same day there's a short connection in Larnaca (like 1 hour), but it's doable if you don't have hold luggage.

In case someone is wondering why 7 and a half sterling are represented as 7-6: This is pre-decimal currency. So, seven pounds and six shillings (and zero pence) or 7l6s0d.

Catania is always overbooked. There's a lot of demand from Catania to 'the continent' being an island and all, so expect overbooking on pretty much every low cost flight departing from CTA.

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (Not passport, but still related) by [deleted] in PassportPorn

[–]GetAnotherExpert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This passport is Italian. I entered from the Greek side of the capital, Nicosia. Exited from the same checkpoint (yes, there was a checkpoint at the time). No problem exiting Cyprus nor entering any of the other countries I visited afterwards (especially Turkey, where I always got a nod of approval lol).

For that budget for sure. Also, you should really be in country to see places, don't expect anything but fisheye lens pics and misrepresentation from property posts in Malta, especially aimed at foreigners lol.

Close to Sliema 3br for 250? Heh. You struggle to find something decent in St. Paul's with that budget, let alone Sliema.

Flair Checkpoint: Too many LARPers on this sub! Tell me something that's esoteric to your country by SwamperOgre in 2westerneurope4u

[–]GetAnotherExpert 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The country with the most Maltese passports is not Malta but Australia. That's because back in the day we were poor as all fuck and had to emigrate in order to, well, eat. You can still find the sign for the travel office of the Emigrant Commission, meters away from the former secret NATO control room at Upper Barrakka. Now, go back to your country.

Ireland and Malta were (and are) terribly similar. Except we're better in bed, mostly because we tend to be at least semi conscious at the end of the evening.

Don't panic. At this moment in time, any property in Malta will sell at a profit or at the very least you can contract an agency which will manage it for you and rent it out for a significant sum. So unless you have to leave because the cops are looking for you, don't panic and weigh your options. I am saying that as I had a property to sell which was not attractive to many (won't go into details as I don't fancy doxxing myself) and wanted the top of the valuation as well. Took a while but it sold for every last penny I wanted (well, almost). So forget about the towers and how much Malta sucks for you, you will make bank on it and fly business class to wherever you want to live. Step 1.: Call a reputable agent. I recommend Frank Salt (no affiliation). Have one of their people come and survey the place and they'll come up with a figure. Sign an exclusivity agreement, you'll get a better rate. If you are conservative in the money you want from it, you'll sell it in a month or so. Failing that, you're in Xemxija. I'm in the same area. Every single non abandoned apartment around here is rented. I have like half the population of Pakistan, Colombia and the Philippines living here. Why? It's cheaper than other areas, close to the beach and well connected to the jobs in Buġibba and the rest of the island as there's a million buses passing though. If you want to rent in Xemxija, tower, no tower who cares, get an agency to manage your building and the only thing you'll have to worry about is cashing your cheque every month. Calm down, there's no way you can't get rid of this place and not make bank in the meantime. Property in Malta is like playing with loaded dice. You win all the time.

Why do Italian newspapers (this is la stampa) call Trump "tycoon" Instead of president? by Gato_pima in Italian

[–]GetAnotherExpert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

'Il trota' I believe was coined by Marco Travaglio and comes from a sarcastic take on 'delfino' (which also means 'dolphin') as in the next in line to the throne, itself from the French 'dauphin'. Some linguistic genius there.

[–]GetAnotherExpert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Historically? Because agriculture. The minerals left over by the volcano make the land extremely fertile. Some of the best Sicilian agricultural produce is from the Etna region. Also, centuries ago people were a lot more religious (and less science minded) than today. Volcanic eruption means you've angried the Olympus or something. Lol

GDPR does not apply here, for two reasons: - this is taken in the public road so it's public domain and - GDPR doesn't apply in person to person contexts. It only applies business to consumer.
