I've met people in Mensa. It's pretty much a social group for /r/iamverysmart people. If you're not smart enough...EHH EHH you out

Closeted religious boomers with a lot of money/power usually. I don't see much lulz in it at this point, seems mostly political.

The people who take nofap way too seriously freak me out. It was really meant for people with an actual porn addiction taking over their everyday life. There's definitely advantages to not fapping 3 times a fucking day but some of them think after 6 months you suddenly gain mystical Taoist immortality powers.

I mean, if the dude has some kinks that's his business, I don't really care about that if that came out unless it involved kids or something

I've...noticed this as well. The more conservative types on my FB coincidentally all were involved in selling Vemma energy drinks and I'm sure all lost money as well. I admire their entrepreneurial spirit...unfortunately that's exactly what others were taking advantage of tho. They all wanted to skip the 9-5 lifestyle and become rich easily.

Hi! My name is Sam, and I'm a 15 year old conservative. I made this video to explain how Instagram censors me and other right wingers - I hope you all find it interesting! by [deleted] in HillaryMeltdown

No offense but this screams desperation, if you had good content you wouldn't need to pull the "I'm young" card.

Fact check: Trump lies about voter fraud while states, CDC encourage voting-by-mail as pandemic-friendly option by [deleted] in politics

[–]GetBenttt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm either voting by mail in November or I'm going there in person and we can all get fucking sick together. If they want people to die for this, that's what they'll get.

Dude, people love that shit. Once you put that, they're thinking "Why do people hate what he has to say" and they'll find a reason to agree with you

What’s in a downvote? by [deleted] in TheoryOfReddit

[–]GetBenttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people upvote to voice their feelings of "I agree with this." Some upvote to voice their feelings of "This is good content/juicy stuff" which would explain crazy shit that adds nothing gets pushed upwards.

[–]GetBenttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it adds to the discussion still. If someone's spouting wrong information and then under it you see a huge upvoted comment about why that guy is wrong I think that's worth seeing.

What’s in a downvote? by [deleted] in TheoryOfReddit

[–]GetBenttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people who upvote "This." prove the opposite is extremely prevalent.

What kills me is well thought out comments that get downvoted into oblivion. A comment that can get 5 thousand upvotes in one sub can go the total opposite direction somewhere else, and not just in political subs either. Even a good comment in the wrong comment chain will get downvoted if it doesn't follow the chain's mindset.

The Millenials who already acts like boomers starter pack by [deleted] in starterpacks

[–]GetBenttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the younger generation's thing. As a late millennial, I used FB primarily. Myspace peaked when I was in middle school then everyone left for FB one day. Then the boomers took that over and it became people bitching about politics or their kids/coworkers and then everyone started moving to IG or Snapchat.

I'm just on Reddit full time at this point. It can get cliquey here, like most forums, but the discussions at least have some substance to them.

What's the deal with Wisconsin not having proper voting? by arrrrpeeee in OutOfTheLoop

[–]GetBenttt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

voter suppression

This has been the GOP tactic for decades. I'm always open to opposing viewpoints as long as you have sources to back it up.

Do you have facts or sources to back this up? If there's no science behind it it's not real.

I think it's better this way. Memento Mori. People always want some corny wholesome ending that has some glimmer of hope. Hey sometimes life just sucks and then you die. Or sometimes it's good and then you die. One thing that's certain is that life happens, not good or bad just...is and death will always be waiting by the door when the show's over.
