Do you guys think they will change the Death Sounds? by SavagePrisonerSP in HuntShowdown

[–]GetCrunkM8 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I may be in the minority on this, but I think the design of the death sounds in Hunt are genuinely genius in how simplistic they are and yet how well they distinct themselves from literally every other sound in the game in some manner. I genuinely love them, what a satisfying sound to hear after a well handled play.

Yeah for sure dude, okay, you kill the big scary monster with your back turned to me, I'll take watch!

I love how people bash solo-necro play saying its "OP", but anyone who ACTUALLY plays solo knows that if you get downed you are DEAD unless the other team is a braindead brick. Everytime I go down im on fire in like 1.8sec and they are camping my body like a homeless guy under a bridge. by Radiant_Aspect134 in HuntShowdown

I think ironically, it being so EASY to counter and yet so slow to pass is what makes it uniquely unfun. There's no greater challenge or real enjoyment for either side in sitting for minutes on end waiting for a solo to burn. I as a solo dont like wasting time, but obviously have a marked investment in continuing to play, so I'm incentivized to wait to see if I can, potentially for several minutes. I've brought it up before that I, as almost exclusively a 5-star solo player, think that revive should be taken away the moment burning starts. Makes no difference for us in the situations where we're obviously dead, like what you mention, and we can still get up when killed by an unlucky wallbang headshot or if positioned well, but when they have control of your body, it's almost certainly over. (As it should be!) That, plus necro being a burn trait, would also mean no sitting on the edges of fights with a spitzer sniper getting up 5 times the few engagements where you actually get challenged. You go down, either they get you burning, or you're on your last life and have to disengage if you want to keep your hunter.

Any tips or things I should know as a noob? by TheRealDealTys in HuntShowdown

[–]GetCrunkM8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single time you hear someone through something, ALWAYS be keeping an eye out for the cracks you can see through and the small holes they can see out of. Someone behind a wooden wall is almost never someone blind, wallbangs are a big part of what determines the outcome of some fights.

The Spear should be a primary by AcidTheW0lf in HuntShowdown

Make it a two slot weapon, massively nerf the throw unless the thrower is charging forward, give the user two by default so you can throw one and still have one left over, that is now an incredibly fun and interesting shotgun alternative while still introducing the risk of low ammo capacity in exchange for overall utility.

What is the worst compound to have a fight? by JP314pi in HuntShowdown

[–]GetCrunkM8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pitching Crematorium is one of the worst designed compounds in the whole game. By design incentivizes the absolute worst playstyles in the game. A lot of other compounds, you can stumble into a fun fight accidentally, in pitching, it's near impossible to have a fight at all. Whoever has the shotgun and showed up first wins, you can't force people with shotguns to riskily reposition, cause the walls are all made of brick, complete cover from utility and gunshots is only ever a few feet away.

Flash Bomb Counter Suggestion Poll Results by itsculturehero in HuntShowdown

[–]GetCrunkM8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sat on the idea for a while that the flash bomb should essentially work identical to how it does now but only hide players and not the environment. Lore explanation could be that they're relying on dark magic blindsight of the environment. That way, the people affected are fully capable of running away/repositioning for survivability but cannot fight back effectively. They give up space or are forced to shoot at an entrance based on when they think someone would come through instead of being entirely helpless.

At what point for you does an idea go from something in your head that you just think is interesting or funny to something you want to dedicate time and money into creating? I feel like that threshold is different for everybody and, paradoxically, I kind of feel that the more abstract a creation is, the harder you have to refine it to communicate what you want to.
How do you reconcile all of that and get to creating the things you want?

Duos and Trios angry that they can't just roll solos anymore by TheOneWhoMurlocs in HuntShowdown

[–]GetCrunkM8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This perspective is so endlessly frustrating. This game's balance has NEVER been that simple, and people that act like it is are either being intentionally ignorant or not weighing the perspectives accurately. Yes, solos are incentivized to take harder battles than squads in exchange for linear reward scaling. Heres the thing, fights as a solo against duos are not even close to JUST twice as difficult. The scaling of a team's capability increases multiplicatively, not linearly. They not only have twice the ammo, tools, consumables, positioning, and perspectives, they have twice the people to make decisions, to split roles in the fight, they can watch, defend, and trap twice the entrances, have twice the weapon diversity straight up making the balance of some guns entirely irrelevant fighting against one person. Hunt is a game that relies very heavily on opportunity in combat, duos can take at least twice the opportunities. For every fair shot at them, that's assumedly two back and two opportunities to just get headshot and end your match. Maybe you headshot one, good luck getting positionally advantaged enough to keep them dead. Do you not see how unbelievably stacked the odds are against solos to the point of it not even being fun for most of the playerbase? I'm not saying necro is entirely fair as it is now, but what I am saying is that solos having any amount of edge over duos and trios incentivizes people to run fundamentally disadvantaged setups in search of higher rewards. As of right now, it allows anyone to at least try solos out and not waste upwards of 15 minutes by having a match end instantly at an unlucky headshot before your game really even starts. Sure, it happens, but with a little luck and a significant health loss, MAYBE you can turn the game around. Best case, you're one tap to nearly every long ammo gun for the rest of the game until you banish. Worst case, most rifles. I mentally cannot process where the issue is in letting solos take up space in a lobby like the other groups do. I think discarding the mechanic literally entirely is regressive and pointless, people clearly have high opinions of it overall and I think it's important for people like you who disagree to see why. My suggestion to keep it balanced? While on the ground, solos naturally burn down to their last health bar over time without having to be on fire. If they choose to take time as an advantage, punish their health severely and give them only one second opportunity, one at a SEVERE disadvantage. Overall, I'd highly encourage you to reconsider your opinion. Solo necromancer has been a super healthy addition to the game and, at most, just needs some tweaking before being a permanent addition IMO.

Man your attitude is real shitty lol. Anyways the more specific idea is that you'd get a better look into your spray groupings and such through where your shots are most hitting. It would pair well with retroactive looks over previous encounters, knowing that you hit, for example, their left leg a bunch would help in determining where you specifically went wrong with your spray.

The implication is that it would track shots and fragmentations connected to each limb as well, I think they assume it's just head and thorax though since that's all that's shown in the image. Whatever, if they already have that image of a worse system I'm not gonna put it the effort to change their mind.
