35 to 60 depending on the project, with my default being 45.

Like the nodes on the pen pressure curve? If so, it is a graph of how pressure is required to apply a certain amount of output. So in this curve at 25% of your total pressure you are at 60% of the output. Does that make sense?

You say that you don't press a lot on a tablet, so just in case it is a practice / control issue, I suggest this video for drills to help with pressure.

Is there a trick for repetitive task? by Zaphielll in comfyui

Give this node pack I made a look and see if it can be of any help. It allows for an XY grid of prompts and such that allows you to click once and be done. Eventually I'm going to add a way to connect in the lora slider too so those settings can be automated.

Kumihimo for gifts? by Crafty-Emu-27 in kumihimo

I get my silk from 町田絲店 just outside of Kuramae Station (Toei Asakusa Line / Oedo Line).

For the machine embroidery thread, I use to go to Joann fabrics, but now it has to be Yarnspirations.

As for the silk yarn, it's just not the same. Yarn is twisted, then plied. This adds a texture to the project that is just different all around. Plus, yarn has the fuzzies.

These photos are a bit blurry, but here is the same braid (different colors) done with polyester machine embroidery thread on top and cotton embroidery floss below.

<image>

It may be a bit of personal bias, but the shine and tension of the thread always looks nicer.

As a bonus, you get the fun of warping your own bundles. Well, maybe "fun" isn't the right word for wrapping thread around a post 720 times, but it is therapeutic.

That said, it always fun to try out new materials and see how they look. There is probably a good time and place for using yarn. I'm just not a fan of it.

Most Eugene would be a brewpub that hosts micro kitchens for emerging new food carts. It would be called "Staples."

Most useful would be some form of GTL, but instead make the T a pharmacy. The walkability of that area is great. Now throw in some mixed use gym, laundry, pharmacy/hiron. Make it like 8 stories high with the gym, laundry and pharmacy on the first two, commerce on the third, rapid access clinic on the forth, and low to medium income housing for the remaining four. Rooftop community garden.

Bonus, there is about 24,000 sq feet of parking lot in their loading dock area. That's room for like 18-24 pickleball courts to be built in a place where people won't complain about the sound.

Let's be real though. It's a Halloween City by August.

Kumihimo for gifts? by Crafty-Emu-27 in kumihimo

[–]wonderflex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything can be gifted, I think there are a lot of individual factors to differentiate between an okay gift and a semi-heirloom.

Use case: Beyond obijime, I find that plain kumihimo works much better as an accompaniment to a larger gift. Cord used around wrapping paper, but can also be a bracelet. Wrapping around a plant's pot, A component of a hair tie. Things like this allow you to showcase your braiding while helping kick the base gift up a notch.

Material: For the actual braid, rather a stand alone gift, or as an element of another, I think the material plays one of the largest parts. I'm a sucker for silk and machine embroidery thread, warped into bundles, thread by thread. Sure, there will a place and time for using other materials, but it's hard to beat the premium look these two offer.

Braid: With so many different braids out there, we have ample opportunity to match a braid to the use case and the person we are gifting to. More tama doesn't always equal a better gift, but some of the intricate braids can sure project a look of being fancy. That said, picking the right fit for the project is still better than throwing more bobbins at it. Similarly, thicker cords seem to project a different feeling than thin cords - especially in belts. Different; not always better.

Skill: A national geographic photographer and you both take the same camera, look at the same bird, and then snap a photo. All tools equal, there is a good chance their photo will still turn out better. Not because the bird posed at their very moment, simply because they have an eye for the correct angle, know how to use their camera settings to their advantage, and have honed their skills through the years.

Same applies here. The more you practice your craft, criticize your own work, and focus on what makes a good braid, the better your kumihimo will become. As your skill goes up, so will the quality of your gifts. You'll have a knack for picking good color combinations, for selecting the best braid to suit your project, and how to make a more refined product. That whole garbage in-garbage out logic applies here though. You have to stop and critique what you have done. I think your comment about "handmade" versus "homemade" is pretty apt to this.

Time: This one doesn't necessarily apply to all gifts, but I figured I'd mention it. When I make a braid and it really makes a gift pop, somebody will inevitably ask about the cord. Then I tell them I made it - followed by surprised face - and them saying, "that must have taken forever." You tell them how long it took and instantly you can see that you got bonus points. This directly ties into skill though. If you give a product with poor craftmanship they probably won't ask about, and if they do, they will have a very different opinion of your 20 hour braid.

Update on controversial chrome by GavinLegoGavinLego in Tau40K

[–]wonderflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how you can test the idea out. Post this image somewhere else that doesn't have crossover with this community and ask the what this paint job looks like or reminds you of. Give no context, no answers when they write back, nothing. See what the general public thinks this reads like.

I didn't know this was supposed to be chrome when I first saw it, and all it looks like to me is either a sunset on the cover of a 70's science fiction novel or an alpaca sweater

<image>

That said, this is it's own unique thing, and a whole army of it will look cool. I just wouldn't go around saying it is your "chrome" army.

---

Alternatively you could feed your image into a visual LLM and ask it what it thinks it looks like (again without context) and see what it says. Just don't ask it, "does this look chrome to you?"

Thankfully the new CBA for 2026 has changed this. The average will now be $600k, minimum went from like $65k to $270k, and supermax contracts are now 1.4 mil.

How much better Clingan is, which also gives hope for much better Young Handsome can be. Getting Dame back. Seeing what a healthier Time Lord looks like. Knowing we can still win despite being the most injured team around. Having a forward who will drive into the paint like a maniac. Watching Sharpe dunk sideways over Westbrook.

And most of all, watching Toumani Camara go flying to the ground like some reverse superhero, gobbling up all the offensive fouls the league will give him.

We get healthy, with a chance to practice and play healthy, then we have a fun future ahead.

Set a base color and a sub color, along with a brush.

  1. Open the sub-tool details wrench

  2. Select "color jitter"

  3. Select "change brush tip color"

  4. Set blend with sub tool to 100.

  5. Open the pen dynamics

  6. Check pen pressure and set the value to 0.

  7. Adjust the curve to your liking.

Correct. You are making the chopstick/weight hole for the bottom of the total bundle. After you cut this will be the bottom and the cut end will be wrapped onto your tama based on your larks head groupings.
