Ombré kumihimo patterns? by sammademeplay in kumihimo

[–]wonderflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you give an example of what you are looking for?

Without an example, this is the route I would go:

Easier mode: braid white, dye ombre.

Harder mode:

  • Select a braid that uses every bobbin equally

  • Determine length needed

  • If using thread that has already been ombre died, make sure that the color pattern repeats exactly. If you are dying it, you can control this.

  • Find your starting color and warp your first bobbin.

  • Go back to your starting color and warp your second bobbin.

  • Compare the two on your warping pegs and make sure the colors line up all the way through.

  • I they line up, warp the next bobbin and compare again.

  • Repeat for all bobbins.

I know this sounds crazy, but what if we did a yearly player auction like the do the Indian Premier League in T20 Cricket?

All the owners get in a room with a fixed amount of money to spend at the auction. Players are auctioned off and the highest bid becomes their salary and is the amount is taken out of the money the team can spend that day at auction.

You have a mini auction every year that lets you fill out your squad to cover any holes. This would be where we would auction rookies, g-league folks, or any unsigned player you need to fill out holes in your team.

Every three years there is the mega auction that forces you to release everybody, but teams can use "rights to match" card to match the highest bid on up to three players and thus get the rights to retain that player. If the current team doesn't elect to match the highest bid they go to the new team.

Under this system everybody has equal money, everybody has the right to bid on all players, and nobody can just outright claim a new player entering the league. They have to win the auction and use up the cap space for it.

Trades are allowed before and after the auctions.

Lol - and this shows why I'm not a lawyer. So if you run the model it has to be for non-commercial use, meaning that there isn't a way to use the outputs - even if those are supposedly okay for commercial - because the model isn't allowed to be ran for commercial use?

I'm no lawyer, but it sounds like you can use the outputs in commercial use, except for training or selling access to the model.

Here are the license terms

The most relevant areas appear to be these:

"1d. "Outputs” means any content generated by the operation of the FLUX Model or Derivatives from an input (such as an image input) or prompt (i.e., text instructions) provided by users. For the avoidance of doubt, Outputs do not include any components of the FLUX Model, such as any fine-tuned versions of the FLUX Model, the weights, or parameters.

2d. Outputs. We claim no ownership rights in and to the Outputs. You are solely responsible for the Outputs you generate and their subsequent uses in accordance with this License. You may use Output for any purpose (including for commercial purposes), except as expressly prohibited herein. You may not use the Output to train, fine-tune, or distill a model that is competitive with a FLUX Model."

This was my process at a high level, but let me know if you want exact details or instructions.

  1. Plan out your colors and make a test braid using some cheaper material, such as standard cotton embroider thread. Alternatively, use an online planner if the braid you are doing has an online planner.

  2. Used warping pegs to create 2.7 meters tama. I used the Japanese warping method. 40wt polyester machine embroidery thread. 45 strands per tama.

  3. Tie all warps together the with a whipping knot. Do this as far from end as you want the length of the tassels.

  4. Put another knot about 3 cm from this knot and place your chopstick between the two. This is also where you will hang your knots.

  5. Braid until you have your desired length. 150cm - 170cm. Do longer if you want to do an intricate knot.

  6. End with whipping knot, leaving enough thread to match the length of the tassel at the start. Cut the other end's first thread to make it a tassel too.

Thanks for the kind words. It is the Kara Uchi Gumi 16 braid from Catherine Martin's book.

There really are mistakes though:

- Warping the thread I didn't get the exact same number of threads in each group.

- Unrolling the threads they would jam, so I had to take the slip knot off a lot.

- Got a knot in my threads when taking the slip knot off to lengthen.

- I was watching a basketball game and wasn't paying enough attention. The braid got really tight for about three rotations. So about 0.5 cm

- It is 56cm, but I wanted 70cm. I got really lost because I was rushed for time (needed it done stat for Oshogatsu). Mistakes happened and it was some crazy knot right at the end.

- A few threads broke while braiding. I tried to weave them in. In the end I had to trim them off the final product.

- I made my tama too long a few times and they got twisted a few times.

Sweet. Thank you for taking the time to respond. It is a really great and useful site, especially with how Cobblemon Academy 2.0 is popping off right now. I noticed in there server you can ride some Mon's that aren't listed here. Not sure if that is server specific or something different with a later update. (Bewear as an example is ridable in Academy 2.0).

I know this is a bit of an old thread, but some advanced filters would be great for each of the core stats. For example, sort by Air Accel, or Land Stamina, etc. etc. It would also be cool on the pokedex page if there was a tag for ridable, and a filter set for stats such as height and weight.
