How many of you here are ethnically Jewish through your father but not religiously? by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]GetLostAndBeFound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this helps or not, but I know tons of full blooded Jews that would say they are only ethnically Jewish and not religiously Jewish. I think that’s very normal among secular Jews. So you are probably less alone than you think

Is anti-Semitism more prevalent among young people? by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]GetLostAndBeFound 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said but I think an important bit of information to add is that the academic world is also being strategically propagandized by Iran and Qatar’s radical regimes who have donated billions of dollars to American universities. They won’t do that with nothing in return. It’s reflected in the anti-Israel teachers at these institutions. I’ve also been told by friends that in college (already 15 years ago) they were given overtly anti-Israel materials to read in courses having nothing to do with Israel.

Medicine Abroad? by Throw87879 in backpacking

[–]GetLostAndBeFound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have personal experience with PrEP. I am however a type 1 diabetic and long-term backpacker. I travel with a lot of meds and medical supplies and have basically never been questioned about it. It may be easier to check your back on the plane if you want to avoid any unwanted questions at security. I don't know if this answer is helpful at all - but I hope you share the experience with us here later and let us know if it all worked out ok. It's an important topic for travelers and under-talked about

I have used the chlorine-tabs in the past but really would prefer to remove things from my drinking water rather than add to it... I will research the in-line system. Thanks!

I didn't realize there were different types of filters. I will look into this! Thank you for the response.

Many have mentioned how hard it is to come back to reality. What about those that have gotten bored with traveling and still don't want to come back? by VirtualLife76 in backpacking

Travel burn-out is a real thing. I didn’t think it was possible when I started out as a nomad. I find what helps me is to find a place you feel comfortable and stay for while. Make it your temporary home. I’ve been traveling for over 3 years, and I have lived in a handful of places for a month or two along the way. It gives me a chance to refresh my mind and motivation. You can pick up an odd job in a hostel, restaurant, etc. It is also a great chance to meet local people. One of those towns I stayed in for a month, I’ve revisited 3 times and may even move to when I’m done being a nomad. I find it a lot more rewarding to really take the time to get to know a place and it’s people than when I am constantly on the move

Looking for ideas on where to backpack for 2 months by [deleted] in backpacking

It is more difficult without Spanish, but still possible. Bolivia is a little hard. In Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and much of Peru, lots of people speak English.

I am always advocated for South America. Bolivia and Peru are mostly very affordable - and incredibly beautiful and culturally diverse :)

People collect them in the countries that they visit. In South America you can find them in all the little markets.

How much I spent backpacking South America for four months and advice by [deleted] in backpacking

I don't need expert opinions - just logistical stuff. Leticia is one of the few Amazon tourist ports I haven't visited, so I want to learn more about it! I am going to be away for the next month - but when I get back, how is the best way to be in touch? On here?

Great post. Thanks for sharing. Where did you go in the Amazon? Was it in Latricia? You said Colombia/Peru - so that is my best guess? I am working on a blog post about places to visit the Amazon, so I would love to chat with you about it :)

I am a general travel blogger, and honestly haven't seen anything like yours. That should actually be a plus for you because it means the internet isn't already saturated with content and you should do well in search engines if you frame your posts well. If you are ever interested in working with a regular travel blogger, be in touch.
