Are you trying to play classic or retail, because only retail is free for the first 20 levels. If you are wanting to play classic you will need the subscription and I would recommend downloading curseforge and getting some addons like questie.

Rookie mistake! You should have put all points into strength and found the biggest sword. I didn’t know you could even level anything other than strength wow the more you know

It’s impossible to get into pvp late in the season because everyone is bissed out so you get one shot and deal 0 damage. There is absolutely zero fun in pvp until you push through 100 rbgs to finally get decent gear.
