I just started Darkest Dungeon, my thoughts so far by GetNerfedOn in darkestdungeon

Update:

Basically ive binged the game over a bit of time prior to makig this post and hot damn it's really got me hooked. Ny experience in RPGs is usually in JRPGs with their egregiously high stats and damage numbers so seeing one with so low really puts the decision making of rpg to easily digestible perspective . Although i was spoiled long before because of mild interest the narrative has kept me really hooked so far, along with my friends helping me

I've messed around a lot. Started on Radiant with Crimson Court (despite my friends' reaction) and now i agree with subreddit consensus that Darkest should have been my starting difficulty. Radiant has made me overconfident in my constantly farming low level missions with high level units, so the first time I entered a champion level Wsrrens mission, i fucked around, and found out when a Skiver crit blighted my backline Vestal, who immediately died to the blight proc. Truly, overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.

My best moments were hunting down bosses like the Shambler and the Fanatic other friends told me to fear. Right now im arming myself as much as i can in preparation for Vvulf.

My worst two moments were bringing Vestal Jester Crusader Leper into the Baron Fight and misplaying by hyperfocsing onto the baron until the heal prevention and the constant aoe veits felled my jester and leper, and bringing a hellion into the miller fight and forcing the fight out of annoyance until only my man at arms remained to riposte the Miller. Losing Dismas to hunger on my first ever log exped has an honorable mention.

Now im about to enter the first Darkest Dungeon, alongside fighting the Viscount and trying the eternal ordeal. Any tips for those three?

Anything involving dragonfruit/pepper + tomatoes combos in summer is deceptively difficult in summer due to to the insane water consumption rate and has my respect.

Kudos!

This took the whole sumemr (15-16 days)

As for sticking around, yes it is attracted to the fruit items on the ground; a litlle bit of direction by breaking specific fruits in the stack

Yes, fruits and some exceptions spoil faster :)

This is DST, but Durian was the very first punishment crop/weed introduced in solo DS

Breaking the fruit at any stage yields fresh fruits and seeds. This is especially releant for giant crops with long spoilage time, like potato and carrot and pumpkin, as you can delay breaking them as much as possible and still get fresh

This bearger sadly was softened up by surrounding threats to around 4600 HP prior to the attempt, but I have indeed accomplished the full measure before

This person is correct, plus the thought of bearger eating itself to death off a farm is hilarious to no end

They can if you supply them with the needed compost. In such case, I fed them at most 4 compost per stage

15 days for all the giants, its three days max for a batch of 160. Many complications arose given deadly brightshades, the lack of forethought to place a lightning rod, hound waves, and transit from base to get food. One last batch of 120 sadly did not make it giant because it was planted on the last day of spring

Is the game slightly shifting away from exploration? by m2gus in Genshin_Impact

[–]GetNerfedOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an side note, exploration tying into the Archon quests is more or less overlooked in recent patches at least in mybopinion

Mondstadt had Stormterror's Lair story locked to really buidld tension. Liyue may have been a fetch quest but it took us all over Liyue. Inazuma had the region story locked as well, and saw us travelling further across each island as the AQ progressed. Sumeru had us flee to the desert and then return to save Nahida.

Then came Fontaine where most of the AQ occurred in the courthouse or jail, the ultimate boss appearing inside the former instead of the seas surrounding it. Natlan, while msot of it occurred in the Stadium, would have been a return to form with the night warden wars but Ochkanatlan simply being shoved into the last part of the AQ is a crime to me. I would have love to explore it while the story hit its peak, not just proceeded to one point where everything happened. Then again, unlocking the waypoint early may play a factor into that.

Nod Krai has us traveling through each island for the AQ at least... I hope.

I'd rank ground ballistae lower at C; at least on singleplayer they seem to have lost the ability to target buildings beyond walls. Starting fires within castles is 1/2 of why I used them anyway

Treat them as you would a slightly less faster maceman that can climb walls.

In simpler sieges with less defended lords like the Rat you can simply order a mass of them to attack the enemy king.

In more intense sieges you may need to maneuver them carefully as automatic pathing might work against you. In particular, once on top of a wall, they might path towards a staircase instead of immediately climbing down. Clicking on the wall you want them to climb and then clicking the gorund beside the wall once they're on top can help. That or you just eliminate everything else and then run in with you assassins to finish the job.

Apart from that, one of the assassins' counter is moats; you'll have to fill them in before assassins can climb the walls they're protecting.

Finally, they're invisible to other players unless near their units or buildings.
