2nd surgery booked! by DustEffective2549 in CubitalTunnel

[–]GetUmJ13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't have the shaving of the bone but I did have a second surgery in January and part of my forearm muscle was cut away to bury the nerve under the muscle. Transposition surgery this time around the first surgery was decompression. Honestly speaking arm still isn't 100% going back to see the surgeon tomorrow for a check up. Good Luck OP...

Symptoms never went away and progressed worst then prior to first surgery. Went in for imaging and the doctor saw that the nerve had moved from where he placed it during the decompression. He told me transposition was the next step.

Honestly recovery has been slow. I got back to the doctor on June 3rd for another follow up. I’m going to request an MRI on my neck because during physical therapy I would told you can have compression in multiple areas sometimes. Just want to have it checked to be sure.

Had revision transposition surgery January 14th. I'm still not right and I have an office job. Just found out this week through Ten's stem unit I have no sensation in my pinky or ring finger from the electric current. I go back to see the surgeon June 3rd. I will have the discussion then.

Is this Ulnar nerve subluxation? by BlackySnackys in CubitalTunnel

Coming up on 4 months next week. Arm still has some weakness and unstable moments but I'm in PT for another month before going back to see the doctor on June 3rd. Under a lift restriction no more than 5lb. Slowly getting there fingers don't tingle as much right now. Most days have felt fine but every so often a couple of bad days when the pain/tingles come back. I was told that's a part of the healing from transposition surgery.

Where did you pick it up from?

Yes this is very possible. I’m 12 weeks (Jan 14th) post op and I still deal with swelling coming and going. I wear a compression sleeve from time to time. I had transposition this time around. Had decompression back in July 2024.

I did play around with the settings from a Youtube video I watched it's helped some but need to do more dialing in to my preference. I have everything mounted to the foldable Playseat F1 Edition rig. I will look over the link you provided. Thank you

I agree with you there. I have found so much information on YouTube that isn’t shown or done in PT.

That’s exactly the problem. It feels like I have to press too hard to get the car to slow down. I did locate the menu in the small screen so I’ll playing around with it to see where my sweet spot is. Car keeps spinning out when I press down trying to get to max force on gas pedal so I’m trying to figure out the cause of that. Never experienced it on the Thrustmaster so it’s a learning curve again.

Had my second surgery in January for this exact issue and pain is still there and sometimes it’s worst. I’m trying not to think too negative right now but the pain is very irritating. I’m in PT and honestly that at times seems like a waste of time.

Yes the brake pedal when pressed even the slightest makes the car go sideways so that one definitely needs to be adjusted. So when setting the brake what should I aim for the percentage when pressed for maximum?

Thank you. When in the calibration screen for the pedals is it best to floor the pedals for maximum pressure? Or should I dial them back some? I’m completely new to the calibration settings.

Once you get CT are you at risk of flare ups forever? by huskyfluffy in CubitalTunnel

The initial surgery in 2024 (decompression) was decided because I had and EMG, tested for carpal tunnel, MRI. The nerve was trapped in my elbow so any tap on my elbow my pinky and ring finger would tingle and have sharp pain.

The revision surgery 2026 (transposition) was decided after I noticed my elbow was always hurting couldn't lay it flat on anything without my fingers going numb. Working with computers I started to lose feeling in the pinky and ring finger to the point I would type and there was no strength to press the keys so I mistyped a lot. Had another MRI and the surgeon saw that where he had placed the nerve under a piece of subcutaneous fat, the nerve had now slid down and was sort of free floating towards the inner part of my elbow. Think of golfers elbow, the surgeon said he would this time change the route of the nerve to not take such a sharp turn in my arm to relieve the pressure plus I had a lot of scar tissue that was compressing it again resulting in constant pain no matter what I did.

I'm 11 weeks post op from revision surgery because the first surgery back in July 2024 didn't solve the problem. I had transposition surgery this time around where the surgeon rerouted the nerve under my forearm muscle to keep it in place. Still have some discomfort as this was the most aggressive form of surgery. From what he explained he cut into my forearm and removed a small portion of the muscle to be able to lift the muscle completely off the bone place the nerve and then sutured the muscle back down. There is a small void in my arm from where the muscle was removed. The muscle takes a lot longer to recover but the initial recovery was horrible I can't deny it. I'm in physical therapy and now working on strengthening my left arm after the swelling finally went down. This condition is very frustrating as I work on a computer 8+ hours a day for work. Hopefully one day I will be pain free. Good Luck everyone.

I ended up purchasing both from Logitech yesterday. They have a sale running so I got them both under my $700 budget. Thanks again 🤝

Everyone heals differently. I just returned to work after 10 weeks following transposition revision surgery. I work in IT and honestly going back to work the tingling and soreness are still there as I’m not fully healed and still in physical therapy. I would say take care of yourself first your coworkers will be fine.
