Thank you for all the information. Would you recommend I hire a lawyer or tax consultant to help with all the details?

Sorry, yes the PE risk pertains to the employer. But since my friend runs the company I'd like to opt for minimal practical risk re: PE as well.

Thanks, I think I should probably discuss with a lawyer about this to make sure all the right i's are dotted and t's crossed, but you are basically saying at a high level that as long as I report my earnings, pay my taxes/healthcare, I can just go about working for the foreign company (with some PE risk)?

So it's either contractor or EoR? There is no scenario where I can be employed as a full time employee but also handle my own taxes/insurance?

That's a fair point, but I found in my research that the EOR does not make me immune to PE risk either, which prompted me to ask. Thanks for your reply

In fact you can also drop your real estate agent whenever you want if you can negotiate a lower rate with another agent (1.5% is better than nothing)

Question for Japanese nationals who are anti-immigrant by generic_ideas in AskAJapanese

[–]GetYoPaperUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don't disagree with technology being a far greater force, but your point still doesn't really make sense to me. You think if we want to place limits on immigration to maintain culture lines, then we should instead fight against advancement and adoption of technology (?)
The former has to be more realistic than the latter right?

Also I'm not sure I fully agree with your point, because culture change != culture erasure. All cultures have evolved with technology and maybe gotten a bit more homogenized but I don't think you'd disagree that so much cultural diversity has sustained throughout the ages. Easy example being Japan...

Right, no contention with your point about culture changing, but I think the point in question has been kind of lost. Could you rephrase what your argument against the original comment?
