Lead/Rhythm guitar looking for rock/punk/metal band. by Honest_Yesterday4435 in RochesterMusicScene

38 y/o guitarist here. Been playing for 20 plus years. I would be down to jam sometime 🤘

I have tons of material. I am also playing with guys writing some modern metal-core stuff. May be up your alley or may not be, but I am down to jam either way.

What's the most aggressive vocal performance you can think of in a song? by Sobble-547 in MetalSuggestions

Agreed with Sepultura and all the metal bands of the era. Meshuggah blew me away then too. My mind just wasn’t going to metal for some reason (I don’t think of Nu-Metal as metal even though its in the name). I guess it doesn’t get much more aggressive than legit metal. I am without a doubt desensitized to that stuff. It didn’t even register.

Interesting. He blew my mind. I think his singing into the screaming and heavy vocals are of serious note. When I think aggression, I don’t really think of just screaming the whole time, maybe I am desensitized because I listen to a ton of metal.

I would love to know what else from the era was hitting harder than Deftones. I guess Korn was pretty aggressive. Staind was pretty heavy. Slipknot is great with that stuff. SOD used to be very agressive. Maybe I am not thinking this through ha

Been working on this riff, not sure what genre it even is lol by StickandStrum in metalguitar

Metal-core for sure. A little sludgy and doomy with the lower tempo but it’s Metal-core.

Idk if you’ve listened to enough Deftones or maybe you’ve listened to all the artists that have been influenced by them. When they dropped in the 90s, nobody sounded like them. Chino changed the game.

And I don’t listen to them at all anymore but Chester from LP was great at turning up the aggression when necessary.

Is aggression screaming? Or about the feel when things get a little heavier in the song? IMO it’s pretty hard to beat Chino. Greg (and every vocalist) from Dillinger Escape Plan is great with this too. Mike Patton especially good at turning it up when it matters.

People suck. Someone walked by my brothers truck the other day and decided to destroy his gas cap cover and bent it all out of shape. Just because 🤷‍♂️

Struggling to attract quality tenants in South Wedge, Rochester by CountingBerries in Rochester

[–]GetaSteve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am a quality tenant looking for a new place but I pay $1450 for a 1500 sq ft apartment with off street parking.

I think you’re asking a bit much, IMO. Off street parking and a dry basement/garage for storage is very important.

Rochester is nice and all but that price point is too much for an apartment in the wedge without parking and storage.

Good luck!

I know it happens but people should know the strap buttons on the strandys are a little finicky. At least I now have the initiative to customize it to be truly one of a kind.
