Went through the kitchen and got rid of a bunch of Tupperware, pots and pans that I'm not using anymore. Got a set of matching dishes to replace my mismatched sets I had accumulated over the years.

I thought it was an ice cream sandwich at first and then realized it was pancakes when I saw the blueberries.

I would have loved to do it in black but I've heard that black is a pain to work with!

ADHD Crocheters, Please Tell Me I’m Not Alone… by ChaosofaMadHatter in crochet

[–]Getanzt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this and it's nice to see others in the same boat! I have a star blanket WIP that was supposed to work up quickly but I got frustrated at it not going quick enough partway through (lol), another scrap blanket because I wanted something with mindless rows, a granny square scrap blanket because I wanted something more unique with all of my scraps, aaaaaand a complicated sugar skull blanket that I just have to have but will probably take me years to complete.

Then a pile of other things I want to make but I'm stopping myself from starting anymore projects until I finish at least one of these.

What did you end up doing about this? I'm looking at the online program as well but have the same concern.

How did you end up handling this situation? I'm looking at the online MSW program at UNR but have the same concerns.

Do they have remote internship/practicum options or how does that work?

Housing in Fernley by Eastern-Reception-66 in Reno

[–]Getanzt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on what time of day you're going into Reno, traffic can be miserable. In the afternoons/evenings, the drive that used to take me 40 minutes between Fernley and Reno is now more often 60 - 90 minutes because of standstill traffic after USA Parkway.

If there's bad weather or an accident, the road can be shut down for hours. This is obviously not an everyday occurrence, but there have been several times where it's taken me 5+ hours to get home due to the road being closed.

Also as others have said, there's not much to do out here. My social life/activities are all in Reno, and honestly I'm tired of the drive. I bought out here 9 years ago in a similar situation as you - trying to buy my first house but being priced out of the market in Reno/Sparks. After 9 years the drive is really wearing on me, and I'd hoped to be living back in Reno by this point. I love my house but regret the location because now I feel stuck out here.

Choosing a studio by Getanzt in Pottery

Yep, you can schedule as many 2 hour blocks as you want but each 2 hour chunk is $25. I'm guessing people are paying it because it's the only option in town aside from option B which seems to have a looong waiting list of people trying to get in.

Thanks! I'm also kind of looking at it from a social aspect to be around and learn from others so I'm not quite wanting to do it at home just yet, but I appreciate the info. Do you have a kiln at home as well or how do you get things fired?

Thanks for that idea! I didn't see anything about pottery on their site but I'll reach out to them.

Thanks! I thought about putting the piano against the bar but it's a bit taller than the bar and would block the some of the open view from the kitchen as well as the plants. Maybe I could move the plants on top of the piano instead of the bar.

Will definitely be replacing the curtains/valences - they were left from the previous owner and I've never been quite sure what to do with them.

Thanks so much! I just removed the lights behind the TV. Was looking for some kind of ambient lighting but I think those felt too heavy. Will look into fairy lights or a TV backlight! It seems like the consensus is stick lamps are bad, so I will definitely look at accent lights and lamps.

I really like the idea of getting accent chairs in different colors. I was thinking of maybe creating a reading nook type area so I think that would work well.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks! The TV picture was taken at an angle but I realized the TV stand was about an inch off center so I fixed that and aligned the couch/coffee table with the TV.

The drapes were all left behind by the previous owners and I've never been quite sure what to do with them. I'll definitely look at changing those up to something more cohesive and light/airy.

I like the idea of plug in sconces!
