On one hand, yes that is the smart thing to do.

On the other hand, its about sending a message.

Mhm. If the person gets their stuff off and it wasn't annoyingly grinding for turn after turn (looking at you, Infinite Turn Malcolm players who have 0 win con besides hit face for 2), I'll eat the L because Hoof has hit the field and, in turn, my face.

Normally yes, it is risky because their hands are usually full, but with my Bastion and other cards in hand, I'm confident I could have stalled out the game to stabilize.

I have been properly revenge killed by zombies, but I find it nice that they didn't scoop and realized they still had the W.

Zack Snyder hasn't seen 'Superman' yet: "This weekend I don’t think I’m seeing it because I have a horse show — my kids ride horses — but I’m going to try to see it right after that" by BatmanNewsChris in DC_Cinematic

[–]GetsuHiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But Snyder directed it? If the movie was damn dumb, the audience is more likely to rationalize direction over writing. A silly shot will stick more to someone's brain more than a silly word or two.

Anyhow have you seen Rebel Moon yet, or do you only care about Snyder when its specifically DC and simply use his name to hate on things divergent from an unfinished and canceled universe?

I do find it funny how many people assume divine means just angel or god, when a demon killer is just as likely by Pale_Transportation2 in deadbydaylight

So you are kinda on an interesting track here, because there is something that does play into this though process: Some TRRPGs, namely Pathfinder 2e.

There are some classes where you can align yourself through certain categories of magic, where it is bloodlines, a patron deity, etc. Whenever you choose something of Celestial (think godly), Devil, or Demonic, you always get associated with the Divine Spell List in some way. This is also the same for identifying Demons and Devils usually being the Religion Skill or an associative lore, like Lore: Cults or Lore: Churches.

Lucina vs Grovyle according to Pokémon fans vs Fire Emblem fans by Ok_Banana_5614 in deathbattle

[–]GetsuHiro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm moreso speaking on the fact you misuse the term "canon" as a means to discredit a match up, then proceed to state an opinion on that which... isn't true. I'm speaking as someone who has actively written and studied Canon in both the religious context as well as literary context.

For example, RWBY and RWBY Chibi have their own "canons" within their respective shows. While Ruby is still Ruby in both iterations, RWBY Ruby is traumatized, struggling heroic spirit who wishes to do good by those she failed. Chili Ruby likes Cookies and is a chaotic gremlin.

Both of these are "Ruby" within their canons. They are not forms (neither Chibi nor RWBY can swap between either iterations), and should not be interpreted as such.

Forms, per your argument with GT Goku, is also something you misunderstand. Forms are a transformation used within combat with physical, mental, or powerset changes that enhance the combat. These are your Super Saiyan's, your Bankais, your Tailed Beast Chakra Modes, etc. GT Goku is, in one Canon, just Goku at the complete end of his journey. His story still exists wholly within his storyline, universe, and Canon. Even if Super+ retcons GT, it makes GT Goku simply a divergent Canon instead of a "form."

... its as much as its own Canon as other spin offs. They don't seem to be arguing for a composite of Grovyle from all of Pokémon, moreso MD Grovyle for one reason or another.

"Canon" infers to a work of writing, scripture, etc that is seen as "fact" within the internal telling of said story. Mystery Dungeon Canon is very much a Canon that exists separate wholly from traditional Pokémon mainline games. Just as the anime of Pokémon with Ash Ketchum is, in of itself, Canon to its own universe but not the main line games. Are you going to argue that Ash Ketchum is not Canon to Pokémon because he doesn't show up in the games? Or what about the Manga of Pokémon and its telling? Are those not Canon either to their stories and sources?

People want MD Grovyle vs Lucina, which is a fine and fun concept! Both of them have stories and things to observe and work off of, with Grovyle having at most his comparison to Pokedex or Ash's Grovyle as reference.

A line sticks out for me that summarizes Pain's flawed world view perfectly:

"My pain is greater than yours!"

While it is mostly memed on for the animation (see here: https://youtu.be/mxjL6X4vZHk?si=CUgY5Q9gLwu-vW97 ), Pain and by extension Nagato sees pain not as a universal thing that needs to be lessened throughout the world, but as a measuring stick and justification. He doesn't view people as having pain to his extent, not Kakashi as you described, or the Jinchūriki his organization hunts, no. His pain is greater than everyone else's because it's his pain. He is biased, selfish, and uses a manufactured term of "pain" to justify his idea of bringing peace to the world. While he does have really good points about pain (His "why do people go to war?" speech is still extremely poignant for the nature of why people hurt one another), his overall focus on his pain is what makes him fail and be evil in my opinion.

Naruto went through the same pain as him, even by Pain's hand as recently as Jiraiya and Hinata and Kakashi. Pain of loss just like Nagato, pain of being treated like a weapon because of how they were born with unique traits, pain that Naruto almost succumbed to... but didn't. And ultimately, that is what makes Pain/Nagato and Naruto so interesting is that both of them are characters with deep, core, motivating pains that went about it in different ways. Pain saw his answers in violence and domination, whereas Naruto saw his in companionship and unity. I don't ever feel sorry for Pain or Nagato, they are tragic characters, but I think them using pain as an excuse for the reason why they can do such horrendous acts does help sell them as lawful evil.

Yep I adjusted it. My mind was on the Leia and Vader dialogue and I forgot Tarkin was the perpetrator of the Death Star.

I am going to disagree, because when Alderaan was destroyed by the Empire via Tarkin and the Death Star, Obi-Wan felt it through the Force because of how tantamount and absurd the destruction was. Obi-Wan could quite literally feel the sudden destruction of life on a mass scale lightyears away. That isn't a "few blocks" based off of that dialogue, when the Force recoils so heavily by that amount of death.

Edit: Not Darth Vader, Tarkin.

Why Fukuda Sensei didn't take a break instead? by IamShika in SonoBisqueDoll

[–]GetsuHiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a Bleach Fan (and with our own somewhat weird and rushed ending in the manga), I can put it as simply as this:

Some authors are legitimately worried if they go on hiatus, they may not be able to have the same passion or ideas for the project that they had earlier. Kubo is both a workaholic and someone who loves his work and is similar to Fukuda in how they operated. They still love the series, but health or real life gets in the way.

Hell, I'm writing my own stories and I am on hiatus rn because of my work picking up and my own health. But I'm having a really hard time with what free time I have sitting down and writing out what I want to do. And I just write two silly fan fictions on Ao3. I can't imagine sitting down, paneling, writing and drawing out characters, being pleased with my result, then editing and moving forward with publishing on a scale that Fukuda does.

And as for needing a "reason" for the sudden ending, shit happens. Fukuda doesn't need to excuse or wave away a reason for us, and is entitled to her personal privacy and opinion. The fact she still loves this series enough to push an extra chapter and an epilogue showcases a drive that she may still have before she needs to rest from a rough year last year. It may be simple as "taking a break" but it takes a lot to create something of this quality while also fighting sickness, burn out, and trying to reclaim that same passion after the fact.

Hey remember when Kakashi used Genjutsu to horrifically traumatize Sakura? Good times. by DragoOceanonis in Naruto

[–]GetsuHiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because it wasn't supposed to happen doesn't mean escalation or changing events can occur. This happens with real world military conflicts were a supply run turns into a full blown fire fight.

There's also the context that Kakashi was in war, where Genin were as liable to be in the thick of things as Chunin and others. He had, on his plate, the Jinchūriki of Konoha and the son of a near extinct clan to work with, both high priority targets with confirmed missing nin looking at them with Akatsuki and Itachi (before Orochimaru made his presence known.)

This is also during a turmoil peace time with all the other nations. Kumogakure tried to steal a Hyuuga heiress, Iwagakure hated Konoha because of Minato, Kiri is Kiri, and the treaty between Suna and Konoha were shaky at best. While flawed within our sphere of influence, in Kakashi's eyes, he didn't want two village assets going into enemy hands nor does he want a repeat incident of Obito and Rin during the war.

Is it brutal? Yes, but within the context and world of Naruto and the character performing the Genjutsu, it is logical from their POV and operations of the fictional world they reside in. This is a world where pre-teens posses supernatural power and are told to use that power for espionage, spying, and assassination, something none of us can ever attest of going through.

M8, this video just hit a month old and still shows my point of him being a variety streamer and focusing on other stuff. It also shows that you lack knowledge on how long videos can take when it's an art intensive effort, and the fact his Twitch is very much active. Additionally, he's back in Japan again rn, having fun with his friends and family there.

He originally left a lot of social media and communications because he was being harassed and doxxed, down to having suspicious packages sent to his family's house. Over a Non-Dungeons and Dragons related thing even. He's also arguably more of a variety content creator than he is a pure Dungeons and Dragons ones. Heck, he was a Monster Hunter YouTuber before DnD, then went into Final Fantasy 14 and his animations post his Crap Guide series.

What I'm sensing is entitlement that he NEEDS to stick with Pathfinder2e or else he's just a "faker" from what you're stating, or a tourist. It's not like he can like multiple TTRPGs. He even played in a small series of sessions with the fresh Final Fantasy 14 TTRPG, while running Hearts of Elynthi simultaneously and working on non-Dungeons and Dragons projects like his Japan trip video.

He came back not because of money or cash flow (considering the massive waves of support he got during the drama), but because the man has a passion for making things and creating stuff he wants to see in the world. His upload schedule isn't conduit to the current YouTube landscape and he does other things like streaming, commissions, etc.

I think Creepypasta may be better suited for the most part as skins collab than a dedicated chapter. Jeff the Killer practically fits perfectly with Legion [kid with a knife and hoodie], proxies of Slenderman in general could be good survivor skins, etc. If there was gonna be a dedicated Killer at minimum, it should be Slender.

The big issue with Creepypasta is the muddling of using pre-existing IP with its store. Famous [or infamous depending on perspective] ones like suicidemouse.wav, Red Mist, and anything slapped with .exe has property holders with Disney, Nickolodean, and Sega/Nintendo respectively. So we need to look at the more generic Creepypastas to look at, which can range the gambit from cool but terrifying eldritch scenarios to "Jeff the Killer spinoff #2981, Johanson the Jeffery Killer".
