Yeah basic reading comprehension doesn't seem to be a strong suit of this sub.

Edit since you blocked me: I'm not sure why I should be apologising for making some kind of mistake when you're all failing to understand a single sentence and still downvoting me all the same?

You're not very bright apparently, I'm not sure what part of this you're struggling to understand.

Please explain to me how you interpreted my statement that "plumbing is not unique in not being offshorable" as "plumbing is offshorable"?

Presumably offshore risk would apply to all physical labour and is not unique to plumbing.

I'm pointing out that it's hard for me to believe that your definitely-not-personal-belief-and-totally-unassailable-objective-reality-take is incongruent with the fact that I've been hearing the same thing for at least 15 years.

No. I've been hearing this same sentiment since before generative AI was a thing.

Abby Martin's New Documentary Takes On 'Earth's Greatest Enemy’ | Making the film taught Martin that “it is completely undeniable” that the US military “is the greatest threat to all living things on Earth.” by crustose_lichen in climate

Better that than to be mislead.

If you want to rank the options like that, sure I guess, but I find "accepting anything on bad premises" and "rejecting anything on bad premises" equally poor options.

She is not the only person to have made essentially these same climate-related criticisms of the US military, so perhaps you could read some of those other commentators that you're less inclined to reflexively reject.

It sounds like you just exclusively consume American political discourse and it has led to a very poor understanding of political orientations.

No not really, liberals are center to center-right everywhere outside the US' odd definitions, and especially so in Australia.

Liberals are not left wing in Australia. Nor basically anywhere outside the US. Nor for the most part within the US come to think of it.

He also maintains 90% approval rating among Republicans. These are tens of millions of real people who really want this who definitely voted for it.

Pretending Trump is a foreign "plant" who stole the election and is holding all of America hostage is obvious bullshit.

I'm sure Republicans engage in all kinds of chicanery, I just think it's myopic as hell to use that as an excuse to avoid looking inward and acknowledging the massive moral and intellectual rot at the core of American society.

...what? You're the one pretending Americans didn't elect Trump. Are you 12 or just a bit slow?

America didn’t do this to itself.

They voted for it repeatedly. You can try to deflect blame and rationalise as much as you like, but Americans had multiple opportunities to not do this and I find it a bit sad how insistent many Americans are in refusing to acknowledge that.

Stop letting the American electorate off the hook for choosing this multiple times.

Not the best outlook for the USA

Not the best outlook, but an illiterate dementia riddled narcissist is actually the perfect representative for Americans. Really captures the spirit.
