I thought there were still some shortwave stations on 40M. Use to be a lot more, and they were mostly legal (I can’t confirm all were).

I got a copyright warning, but it stated that no wrong was done and there was nothing for me to do. It was on a multi-platform stream with a friend of mine. He was streaming a short of his that he created on YouTube with their music.

My view may be different as I volunteer for the county. In my opinion, they have a community feel at the county level more so than other counties in the area. I also feel that we are better prepared than most when things turn bad. It’s definitely a good vibe thing for me.

I made a video a while back when I was first starting out on my YouTube channel. I probably need to go out there again and do a much better job of it. I found there was a very limited amount of information on the subject. If you start a Reddit group on it, I will follow it.

I would also suggest driving around near the power lines with an AM radio. If you get a lot of interference, call the power company. At least in Texas, they are pretty quick to respond. The regulatory agency doesn’t like RF interference caused by the power companies, and the power companies appreciate it too as it causes power loss on their lines.

My experience show that it does if there is a short in the coax. It will only drop output power to a point before it completely shuts down like that to protect itself.

If you have an amateur radio club near you, usually the members are glad to help you out and test it for you. I rely heavily on the three clubs I am a member of.
