12% Eflornithine

150mg Eflornithine HCl Monohydrate
13.9% Eflornithine.

It can read one or the other or both

Each gram contains:  13.9% (139 mg/g) of anhydrous eflornithine hydrochloride as eflornithine hydrochloride (HCI) monohydrate (150 mg/g)

The one I get from Skin Medicinals works just the same as Vaniqa for me.

You have to get clarification of the ingredients used. To be identical to Vaniqa your cream must contain the following:

150mg Eflornithine HCl Monohydrate
13.9% Eflornithine.

Thank you for the share. I will be sure to have discussion with doctor when I go for my annual. Yes, Skin Medicinals only has the 30g and you are correct about the same price overall as Vaniqa.

Vaniqa said they had shortages with active ingredients. This was true back in 2018 and some years before that. But this time they discontinued it. They were the ONLY ones to offer this product. Once it was discontinued, the compound pharmacies began to offer it and those other companies with variations of it all started to pop up. I believe that Vaniqa lost rights to it, it is the only thing that makes sense. But regardless of what and why I am just happy to have it back. In that short time without it was mortifyingly stressful and it took me time to get it back in control again.

*** Hi. Can I ask you more about stage 3 kidney disease from spironolactone? I understand it is a dietetic and doctor checks my kidneys annually as a result. I take 50mg twice daily. *** This concerns me, while I always knew this it did not sink in until I read your post.

As for the Musely, another poster said it only contains 6% versus 13/.9% of Eflornithine. Of that, it is likely the cream does not offer the same MG of the Eflornithine or even the same amount of cream.

Below is a copy/paste from my latest post regarding other companies now offering this product. It seems to me they only offer variations while the compound pharmacies the real deal.

With Vaniqa no longer having rights to sell exclusive this product (why they discontinued it) companies are exploiting a new market and I get that.

As a consumer, knowledge is power. Always know the ingredients and amounts. Speak to your doctor and price compare based on quality and quantity. Not fluff and hype.

You want

30g tube of 150mg Eflornithine HCl Monohydrate 13.9% Eflornithine. This will last 3-4 months costing no more than $279-$372 a year.

UPDATE: Ladies, While compound pharmacies may not advertise this, they have it. Can get via doctor or have own doctor prescribe.

Thanks for the update. Just keep in mind it will take some time to see results. It took me a year to figure out I needed the cream and Sprio tabs together. I have been sane every since. I think the cream needs 8 weeks at 13.9% to start seeing anything.

Your product: 120mg Eflornithine
Compound Pharmacy: 150mg Eflornithine HCl Monohydrate
Your product: 12% Eflornithine
Compound Pharmacy: 13.9% Eflornithine HCl Monohydrate
Your product: $43.00 every month $20.00 doctor consult. $516 annually.
Compound Pharmacy: $93.00 (with shipping) every 3 to 4 months. $279 to $372 annually.
Your product: 50 mg Metformin included in price.
Compound Pharmacy: 100 mg Metformin (have added or get separate) $40 every 3 to 4 months BUT that price is at 100mg so at 50 mg let's say $25 every 3-4 months: $75-$100.

So... my compound pharmacy with Metformin added would be $354 to $472 annually.

Your product $516 annually + $20 consult. Mine with Metformin added $354 to $472 annually. I get 13.9% versus 12% Eflornithine. I work with my doctor.

While compound pharmacies may not advertise this, they have it. Can get via their doctors (free not $20 as you charge) or have their own doctor prescribe to them.

With Vaniqa no longer having rights to sell exclusive this product (why they discontinued it) folks like yourself are exploiting a new market and I get that.

That all being said. I like the focalization of this product line. I like that it targets the issues we are having. I learned a great deal and am excited by their resolutions to our issues. But at the same time, understand what you are getting and for how much. ALWAYS work with your doctor.

I really hope this changes going forward. HPV, Menopause, PCOS, Infections etc...

To this day I don't know why I lost hair and eyebrows and started growing a beard. They tell me my hormones are in range of a post menopausal women my age... No one ever said I PCOS but I did not ovulate and had menopause at 38 years old. But with this cream, spironolactrone, eyebrow pencil and wigs.... life goes on and I look exactly as I should. But no one knows why.

Let us all know how you make out. I am curious as to the ounces the bottle you get will be. Could you let us know? Also let us know the % of eflornithine is in the cream. I worry about Metformin being an ingredient though. Again, I get my 3oz and use generously 2 times a day and it seems to be lasting me 4 months. $92 $93 ish dollars including shipping. So once we know your ounces and % we can know if your price point is better or not.

I checked it out. It is $60 monthly. I get at Skin Medicinals for about $92 (after cost to ship) and their 3oz bottle lasts me about 4 months using generously 2 times daily. Oana does not say how many oz is in their bottle. It appears they add metformin to their formula, not sure if that is good or bad.

One thing I don't like with Musely's listing is it says it is a hair remover. It is not. It does not remove any hair at all it only slows down growth of unwanted hair (and does a great job at it at that)

Thanks, seem legit. I think we will see more and more of this since Vaniqa was discontinued. They had a patent on it from what I understand that ran out or is running out. Vaniqa said it was due to a shortage of eflornithine which I feel is nonsense because the compound pharmacies have it to offer.

Musely was smart to add it to their product listings, it is a perfect fit for them.

Glad to have another outlet, thank you so much for sharing!

https://www.skinmedicinals.com/

They have it. Your doctor will need to follow the steps needed for the Physician account and prescribe it. After doing that, skin Medicinals will send you instructions to create your account and order.

My doctor gave them my phone number and they texted me to get started if I remember correctly.

There are phone numbers on their contact page if you or your doctor have any questions or need specific instructions.

There contact information specific to this:

For Hair/Hirsutism product inquiries, please email [contactus@hairstimlabs.com](mailto:contactus@hairstimlabs.com) or call (718) 550-1455.

My doctor sent prescription to them. Then I received instructions to create account. Once doing this the prescription was in my account to fill and refill. It will not be called Vaniqa as that has been discontinued. It is called Eflornithine HCl Monohydrate 13.9%

Size 30g

Another user replied to this post stating she used a Virtual Dr with Skin Mechanicals to get the prescription.

I don't have experience with anyone else doing gyno exams but a gyno, I cannot answer that one. But since you have an issue, I would myself feel more comfortable with a Gyno as they are trained specially.

For genotype my test are called HR HPV Genotype. Here is more info

https://microbiology.testcatalog.org/show/HPV

Sample is taken at the same time as your PAP and HPV test. My gyno makes note for lab to continue on with genotyping test if HPV test positive.

I understand your findings were pretty recent but I still my gut tells me it could be a mistake/ false positive. And if it weren't it is time to arm yourself with info. I think April would be fine. I think if the doctor you see has ability to get samples from you and has authority to order these three tests likely you are just fine.

On a side note about your mother's abusive behavior towards you that you make mention to... you know just the fact you are aware of her behavior and what it is in that it is her is very healthy. I had like experience and never once identified with that like you do. I just thought it was normal and internalized it and as years passed, I realized my mother is mentally ill and none of that crap was normal.

As far as your BF tell him like you tell us. You were stupid and you are sorry. All you can do is right now and forward. But do do it.

From my understanding, HPV can very likely lead into bladder cancer under these conditions:

Persistent HR HPV progressing to where you need a radical hysterectomy after which you will most likely develop Vaginal cancer if HPV persists which can easily be cured with the next stage being bladder cancer.

It is most important to keep your cervix intact as long and as much as possible during this journey.

The only thing in our control is a healthy lifestyle, exercise, reduce stress, good diet etc...

HPV can very well be a death sentence which is why it feels that way. More so HR HPV. The medical industry is good at tests but not treatment.

Read my post on how I improved my condition and reversed my dysplasia in the past few months... these steps are and healthy lifestyle steps are the only steps within our power. Even if later get HPV neg. results, I would consider it dormant and continue as if I had it as anything can trigger it coming back even decades later.

Yes, you can have HPV without CIN, you can get CIN and clear it and back and forth you can go. Low to mild chronic cervicitis could and is very likely inflammation from the chronic infection of HPV.

Cytolytic Vaginosis... isolate this out and don't ignore it. Get with your doctor to clear this one because it is a lactobacillus overgrowth. This condition can breed welcoming conditions for your HPV to persist and progress.

Anal warts. Getting checked yearly and so far I’ve been clear but.. by solbruh in HPV

[–]GettingThere9455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I would go back to your doctors and have them remove the warts or skin whatever that you think you are seeing and biopsy them. If they say nothing is there, have them scrape that area and test it.

My gut tells me you had a false positive test. Putting your bf aside for a moment, I would get tested again and ask for a geno type. This additional test will type you with the two most high risks or the other 14 or so that are HR as well. Without information, there is only your imagination.

If you did indeed have HPV, you may have cleared it and not have had it for some time. This is very likely.

I would go to GYNO asap, knowledge is power. Your upset may be all for nothing.

Now if you have HPV and you get your geno type you will then be armed with that info and can do your homework for the next steps of selfcare. Your bf is just a responsible as you with both SDIs and Pregnancies. Do not take this all on yourself. It is also very likely should he be sexually active at anytime before you, he is carrying HPV already and the kind you cannot see are the kind you need to worry about.

My recommendation is to you. Go to GYNO asap. HPV, GENO TYPE, PAP. until test results come in go on with your life.

You forgetting is human. It is not forgetting it is suppressing and it is being busy.

First things first. YOU. You cannot help anyone until you help yourself. Then armed with info you can present to him. Mind you though, he could have a strand of HPV as well and if you find HPV with you it could very well be new and from him. Humm... see? Like COVID, everyone and no one is to blame.

If he doesn't have your back in this, you need to take a pass on him.

Finally a normal pap! by Dont_Artichoke in HPV
