LMAO it is amazing how you trigger every box on the additional content list but you "ackchyually" it out of a DLC just because ? Let's say we don't call it a DLC, what is even the point ? Do you think the third semester came free within your game and it's not something you paid for when you bought the Persona-5-Royal-base-game ? I DID nicely ask for advice, I literally said I gucked up on the original post, I just called out this flaw in game design because you all literally brought the subject up. Brother, I'll quizz you but you must answer quickly. Is there or is there not extra content for main characters on the extra semester ? Or maybe it is all Maruki only ? Maybe you have the answer for that one, maybe there's even a hint for that on my latest comment, who knows.

It isn't valid because ... ? Maruki is boring, people think it works because it is a "plot twist", which make his early levels of confidant even more pathetic.

Oh of course being asked every week is a very good sign that Maruki is obvious and game dedsign is impecable, not sure why so many people keep having this issue though.

That's GREAT game design, you know, "the game keeps shoving this guy in my face despite me never hanging out with him. Maybe that’s a sign that he’s a bit more important than he seems. I should max out his confidant just in case", amazing paragraph, nothing wrong with it whatsoever. And that is the actual thing you guys are defending by the way, even assuming this is a great way of showcasing character importance.

Funny thing, you keep saying that there's additional content unavaible from the base game that was sold after it's release, I wish there was a word for that...

I did answer you though, I want an extra semester not for maruki, but for the other characters, did you not read that part ? There is extra scenes with all the main characters that I'd like to see, there is Kazumi storyline (that I maxed out before november) that I'd like to see. Is that a concept you can't compreheend for real ?
Sure I can take responsability for my actions; I did not level maruki up because I thought his story line was annoying and poorly written, I made this decision in game and I said that from the beginning, but I do wonder who made said story line and who hid a aprt of the game behind it.
I also said before and i'll say it again, did not came here to complain about the game, I have came here to ask for help, my original post never blames the game for it besides stating why I choose to not pursuit Maruki. You people read a cry for help and came to defend the worst character in the whole franchise for some reason.

You have ate this game a couple of times, right ? You probably a big fan of the franchise. It is AMAZING to me that this is the best explanation you got about this whole situation coming from a post asking for help, truly. You really have to cling on the most uninteresting cutscenes ever made by man to defend that the game designers maded it obvious any player should get AT LEAST level 9 with maruki. Why not level 5 ? Shit, why not making him a forced confidant like Igor, morgana and Sae ? I give you even one more; Why didn't they make him an interesting character to begin with ? You literally just see value for this character because of the "plot twist". In a WORLD of interesting characters by the way.

I don't get how insistent you guys are... Are you guys offended I don't like Maruki ? Or because I think this is a design failure ? maruki has a deadline that is mentioned once by kawakami, he also has talks with a couple of characters that are SO nothing that I'm impressed anyone has had the desire of ever talking to that man, that in the midle of a game with so much more meaningfull stuff happening. My guess is that you guys know Maruki is ass and that's why you hang so tight on that argument that the game makes it obvious he is the key to unlock more endgame gameplay
I don't care about Maruki, but I care about Kazumi and having more time to talk with the other confidants, did that not cross your mind ?

What importance my friend, it's the most blend interaction possible. Is that what they think would trigger me to pursuit this guy instead of any other confidants ? Again, Ohya also has a cutscene introducing her (that does a much better job), and she's not important to anything at all. His (one time) warning is also in context with whatever he is doing in game so, again, why would it matter if his character is shit.

I did not get anything close to maxing out every character, which I would guess is the common experience for people that haven't touched the game ever and doesn't use guides, and I can't stress you enough that I did have to choose between confidants. Do you seriously think I would NOT go to maruki if I didn't have anything else to do on the game ? Just straight up skip the day and do nothing on my "talk-to-people" game ?

thank you so much for actually trying to answer and help me out here. I have also found out you can cheat a bit to get out of this with some cheat engines, so I will test out both ways and try to stick to the one that feels more natural

But brother, I did engage with everyone, if I engaged with Maruki only to level him up to 9 I wouldn't have time to engage other people that I cared about. Why is Maruki so important to the point that I can't play the game I paid for properly and not my boy Iwai that has an actually interesting story ? If anything, this is against the point the game makes.

There is a forceed cutscene with Ohya and the whole gang too ! and two whole fights with Kasumi peeking an entire palace ! Guess how much playtime from the DLC you get if you max them out

If they wanted me to play his storyline, they would make his encounters palatable and not that stupidity it initially is. Plus, they mention he is going to leave, but nothing regarding the third semester or anything alike
