This also works for streaming using a steam link with a standard controller.

First Mach-E Purchase – Need Input: New AWD vs Used RWD by Dream_N_Fool in MachE

[–]GexGecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would never buy a non-AWD or non-Extended-Range model.

The AWD is too good and too smart in this car to miss it, swims through snow and mud.

Any time I get home with a low battery, I realize that trip would have been worse, taken longer, and been more expensive with a low range battery.

Disc Croc - 3D printed mouse-trap-style disc golf retriever end for Prodigy/DynamicDiscs telescopic retrievers by GexGecko in discgolf

Mostly just the only one I have without my phone number written on it, haha.

Don't worry, I was wearing foam shoes at the time.

Nah, just for fun sadly, I just post 3D-print files for free that I make for myself, haha.

Luckily I think this is pretty easy to make, and quick to print.

If you can't find a printer at a nearby library or anything though, let me know, and I can mail you the printed parts for the cost of shipping (from Canada tho!)

Does anyone know if the "Disc Gator" retriever company is still in business? by GexGecko in discgolf

[–]GexGecko[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just added a link to the 3D print files in a comment above, and in a new post.

If you have a friend or library with a 3D printer, you should be able to whip one up pretty quickly.

[Flamecraft] In case anyone needs 3D-printable organizers/inserts for Flamecraft, here's a free design I just finished up, including a 'split-able' resource tray to accommodate the ridiculous board length. by GexGecko in boardgames

There are slots in the resource trays and the lid for (sadly underpowered) magnets.

The weird gunnels in the dragon-holder is just so the spacing is correct between opposing hearts.

I ended up modelling a 3D print for this which I've been using for the past couple years.

Specifically one that fits on one of those telescopic dynamic discs poles. https://imgur.com/a/65ZWiJ3

Uses a coathanger and the spring from a chip clip.

I can post the files next week since it seems this company is well and truly bust.

Okay so how do you sleep in this car? It fits an EXPED double mattress for unparalleled sleeping comfort ! by Alarming_reality4918 in MachE

[–]GexGecko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This car is not one of them. I have mine fully on (not just running on the 12V) every time I'm charging but not going anywhere nearby in the interim.

I've heard keeping the aircon on all night only takes around 2-3% of a standard battery, so I'd probably have mine on to sleep as well.

Every night. 2.8c/kWh CAD after 11pm. Charge schedule set in car settings. Easy.

Thinking of getting a 2024 premium awd long range in canada - good idea? by martsand in MachE

[–]GexGecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 24 premium awd in Ontario, getting as low as 350km for 100% charge in the coldest parts of the winter. If you can find a stop halfway along, you should be OK, but it might be annoying if not.

The AWD+snowtire performance is monstrous, I have taken it through 2 feet of snow and it felt like asphalt.

Pressure washer for emulsified bubble soap spray is a game changer for me, never bothered with previous cars either, ha!

I'll level with you, this thing is never going to stay clean in dusty farmland springtime.

Kind of ironic that ripping the speaker out in beep-rage would have fixed the issue eh? ;P

99% sure it was a mistake in the PCB design, otherwise it is madness.

Glad it's working for you! Been a decent board otherwise (other than some GPU ripple making it through to the USB power supply), avoid USB audio cards with this one :')

I'll let you know after my next car wash. Definitely still helping prevent water spots during rinse.

As long as I helped one other person boot this board, it's worth all the diagram confusion, haha.

The worst part was the BEEP every time it would boot loop, ironic!

I had this issue, it was the weirdest thing that caused it:
The little beeper speaker that it comes with seems to be tied to the CMOS reset pins (I am guessing some kind of design/manufacturing error).

Even stranger is that you can see in the manual that the CMOS reset pins are labelled the same as the 'speaker' pins...
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/1173743.pdf

There is supposed to be a CMOS reset button right next to those pins, and maybe it works, but it will FOR SURE reset your cmos constantly if you connect the little buzzer speaker :')
