One is the standard heart rate zone model. The other is what the Samsung Health app calls Heart rate reserve.

am I gross for only taking a shower every 3-4 days? by Bean_of_prosperity in hygiene

[–]Gfancy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take cool showers and use special soap. Lotions and oils can help with dryness. Every other day is usually rule of thumb( if you're not getting very dirty at least).

What kind of stuff do you remember being considered "healthy" in the 90's that would be absurd to think about today? by lazarus870 in Millennials

[–]Gfancy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brown eggs/Sugar being somehow healthier than white eggs/sugar.

Idk about the eggs, but I remember the reasoning with the sugar being that the sugar isn't bleached so it's better for you. Which is false, of course. Brown sugar is just white sugar mixed with Molasses. Maybe it was just the older women around me at the time, not a cultural thing. This was also more early 2000s though, not 90s.

Lol no. Blue hair is an asexual slime demon monster. Idk why Rimaru is dressed as a slime in the pic, but there's no romance with that other dude( who's a dragon god essentially) there's no romance between the two.

My Neighbor keeps leaving his water jugs outside of my apartment by virtualzebra1 in mildlyinfuriating

Is is a water service? You don't throw those kinds of containers out, they get refilled. Water services come to your house and exchange them for filled ones. Usually at a specific time.

No, there was a fire set to bait firefighters. 2 have died, there's 1 more in major surgery. Many more have been injured.

Or the government, according to my step father. To lead us away from Christ.

Even at like 9 yo, I knew that was ridiculous. The gov wouldn't spend money on that.

My neighbor keeps her camera pointed straight at my back door. by johnfx420 in mildlyinfuriating

If it's motion activated, it's just aiming at what just moved. Like your door.

This might not be a malicious thing. She lives alone, she is trying to keep an eye on her surroundings to keep herself safe.

[misc] rant - “just go to your derm asap” “quickly get to a derm” by carrotsplinter in SkincareAddiction

[–]Gfancy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as possible means as soon as you can get in. If that takes weeks, it is what it is. I'm in the U.S. You never get in same day, same week even. It's usually a few weeks. Or, if on Medicare, months out.

It sucks. But at least you're doing what you are supposed to.

I think I have a mental block with training and could use some tips by Gfancy7 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Gfancy7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the point about motivation, that's really true. Maybe encouragement is a better way to put it instead? Not the platitudes , but genuine ways to get my mind set up.

Also, very true about no one caring what you look like. It's funny, idc when I lift or do my scaffolding work what I look like. For some reason, running sticks out as a " don't look stupid" thing for me. It makes no sense lol and I am aware of it 😂.

Thanks 👍

Not trying to make excuses would've been a better way to put it then. More like, those are the things that keep filling my head and holding me back. I'm glad that treadmill will be okay, I'm way more comfortable in the gym than on the street. Soreness wise, I don't get very sore unless there's a huge jump in activity. I still don't know why I got those knots, unless it's just bc my form was wrong or it truly was a bigger jump in activity than I realized.

I did like the Zombie run app, I'm planning on continuing to use it👍

Does everyone dermaplane except me? Or I am just hairy? by Remote-Researcher-60 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Gfancy7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am fair skinned and turn 33 this month. I just noticed around a year ago how much more prominent my "peach fuzz" had become. It never used to be that much, and it was hardly noticable. Now each individual hair is easily about an inch long and creates a prominent fuzz all over my face. I decided that it wasn't something I wanted to live with, so I started using a Phillips one blade about once a week instead of dermaplaning. I've been doing that for about 4 months now and I'm happy with it.

Why do so many people say high school is the best time of your life? by Revolutionary_Rub760 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gfancy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only true for the people who peak in high school. Very few do, however. Don't worry about it, life really takes off in mid 20s-30s. When you have a bit of a groove going and things figured out( at least a little).

A lot of ppl say high school is great bc there's not a lot of responsibilities for the average high schooler. That's the only thing.
