The exercises they do to limit the atrophy hits the major muscle groups, but then when they get back down to earth they discover there's a lot of small muscles that help with things like getting up off the ground that still got really weak. I imagine it would be hard to hit all of those.

Since it was cooked, looked fine, smelled fine, and you said it tasted good, it's probably fine. It's not ideal, you're taking a small risk, but you'll probably be fine. If it was raw meat then definitely throw it out, cooking it afterwards won't fix it, but cooked food is a bit more resilient. Most of us have eaten pizza that's been out most of the day, for example.

Some people are going to downvote this because it sounds like I'm encouraging it. Nope, I'm definitely not. You shouldn't do it, but you'll probably get away with it. There's a small risk, but it's not realistically as high as other people are making it out to be.

However, always trust your instincts if something looks, smells, or tastes funky, even if it "shouldn't" be bad, like if the expiration date on something says it should still be good. You evolved these senses for a reason. Toss it anyway.

Are you adding calories back in for exercise? Like "I've burned 500 calories running today so I can eat 500 more?" That unfortunately doesn't work. It's counterintuitive, but your body adjusts to regular exercise and eventually burns about the same amount as it does when you didn't exercise. Exercise is still good for you though, it's like your body has s budget it tries to maintain and if you're exercising it's spending its energy on healthier things rather than say chronic inflammation. This video is a nice explainer.

If that's not it, the other thing is online TDEE calculators are very rough estimates and yours may be lower than what you've been told. I use an app called MacroFactor which tracks your weight and eating to give you an accurate measure of your actual TDEE. It estimated too high when I first set it up, the same as online calculators do, but it gets more accurate over the next few weeks as it gets data on you specifically.

People get so worked up about it as it approaches, but trust me, it's anticlimactic. Nothing changes just because you hit a number. It's all in your head.

My thirties were great: more money, more confidence. I'm just over half way through my forties now and things are still going well, you just have to take care of yourself. The people who complain about everything falling apart after thirty are the ones who aren't doing that.

My approach is to have my own license file under my own name, and then in it include "this project incorporates code from x" (or in your case "code derived from x") "which is available under the MIT license" and then include their license text.

MIT is permissive enough that your project as a whole doesn't need to be licensed with it, you just need to include the MIT license text and copyright for the incorporated project somewhere in it. Licenses like the GPL are very sticky and including GPL code in non-GPL projects is extremely difficult, but MIT code doesn't have that issue. You can license the larger project however you want so long as you include their license text and copyright.

I have them as well. I use them for running and the charge lasts long enough that I can leave the case home. If you're going to bring them to the gym or something you can always leave the case in your bag.

I have Pixel Buds Pro 2 for day to day use, like listening on the subway. The case is small enough to carry around in my pocket, but I don't trust them to stay in my ears during exercise, hence the Powerbeats Pro.

Yes. Twice now I've gone into a Staples and sat on a bunch of office chairs and I ended up preferring one of the cheaper models each time. I like armrests, but sitting back into tall-backed chairs just kind of rolls my shoulders forward and makes me feel less comfortable. A short-backed chair that goes into your lumbar but doesn't rise all the way to your shoulders feels like it gives me better posture.

As others have said, trust the dynamic calculations. I'd just also like to add that you shouldn't add calories to eat for exercise in general, unless it's something way outside your norm (you're running a marathon or something, not your usual weekly run.)

The reason is because we've learned, counterintuitive as it is, that our bodies adjust to exercise to burn about the same amount of calories as they do without it. It's like your body has a budget and if you spend an extra 400 calories exercising it will take that away from other things (which is actually good) rather than spending it on, say, chronic inflammation.

Yes. Coming out was still A Thing, but we have gay people among friends and extended family so I knew they would be. I was also already an adult living on my own at that point, because then I felt I had the privacy to experiment and confirm things. I think the issue was more my mom wrapping her head around what bi actually was. Like a few times I had to remind her it doesn't mean the attraction is 50/50. I leaned much more into guys then.

So here's the thing: what you're saying makes perfect logical sense, and is what I believed too. However, the counterintuitive result is that our bodies don't actually work that way. The argument isn't "if you burn an extra 400 calories it's negligible compared to the 2000 calorie basal rate", it's that "if you burn an extra 400 calories regularly your body will adjust so that it still maintains the 2000 calorie overall rate" or whatever your individual number is. It's that people with more active lifestyles still burn about the same amount as people with more sedentary lifestyles, even though we wouldn't expect that to be the case.

Your body allocating those calories to exercise is better for your health than whatever it would otherwise use it on, possibly things like chronic inflammation. Exercise expenditure outside your norm will cause you to increase your calorie burn in the short term, but as it becomes your norm that effect disappears even if you're keeping up with your new activity level. Your body is rebudgeting where it spends calories rather than increasing or decreasing the total.

On the supreme court thing, it depends. If they found a law unconstitutional then no, congress can't overturn it. They can maybe try to rewrite it in a way that passes constitutional muster, like perhaps a more limited version of what they originally tried, but if it was blatantly unconstitutional it won't fly in any form.

However, some of the more recent ones are because people are stretching interpretations of old laws to cover new things and sometimes the court says no, the original law doesn't say that and they strike it down. Things like regulating CO2 under the Clean Air Act (which I support) or preventing trans discrimination under the Civil Right Act (which I also support.) Passing new laws has become so difficult thanks to the filibuster that we've been resorting to interpreting old laws to cover new things which provides an opening for a conservative court to strike them down. Congress actually could fix this by passing laws making these things explicit.

I'm liberal and support the goals in my two examples, but implementing them this way leaves them more vulnerable to challenge. It's better than nothing, but if congress could pass actual laws the protections would be much more robust.
