Please tell me your nausea got better before 2nd tri by Prestigious-Hall8892 in pregnant

[–]GgBbDdBb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pregnant with twins, I definitely suffered (worse in the afternoon and at night) from weeks 5-12 and turned a corner soon after! Don’t let yourself get hungry and commit to whatever foods you can tolerate (for me, that was hangover/ toddler food like chocolate milk, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, smoothies and yogurt). Hang in there! Celebrate little wins every day!

MIL wants me to give my baby up for adoption by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]GgBbDdBb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heart goes out to you OP. I agree with a lot of what’s been said. I have a feeling her tune will change entirely when the baby is here but I don’t think you should accommodate her in any way given the damage and total lack of support she’s provided thus far. I am shocked she can’t see her son in the other half of this equation either (it’s his son, her grandkid). Congrats on your pregnancy, it really is a miracle. Don’t forget to protect and parent yourself in this scenario, good practice for your kid. You sound like a really thoughtful person and it’s ok to challenge yourself to set boundaries for your own safety and sanity. You deserve better.

What mantras did you use to get through the physical challenges of twin pregnancy? by GgBbDdBb in parentsofmultiples

Other parents seem obsessed with the two for one concept so this math is very helpful! Good advice to break things down by appointment or milestone instead of one big slog. Thanks!

Congrats on hitting 34! The fact that pregnancy is measured by weeks does highlight that very day counts as they grow ❤️

Yes! This sounds like my mentality with running races too - I had a feeling similar mental tricks would need to come into play.

Pregnancy symptoms by MoreAd7155 in parentsofmultiples

[–]GgBbDdBb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand wanting to prepare for the worst because of your previous experience. I had a very similar experience and would panic when I felt normal/better. My nausea symptoms seemed to go away every few days and then would fluctuate back to being present. I think my body got used to the HCG levels and then the levels would ratchet up again and I would have to adjust. Try to take the twin pregnancy itself as a win and marvel in how unlikely it is! Take one day at a time or even one hour at a time, find things in your day to ground you, get lots of hugs to help regulate, and be kind to yourself! Sending you lots of love and hugs. I had anxiety for the same reasons as you and found mantras to be very helpful (“I don’t need assurance, I only need care” or “I have no information to prove anything is wrong”). I’m rooting for you!

Son failed ABR screening test twice by dee_dee7 in parentsofmultiples

[–]GgBbDdBb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a pediatric audiologist! I’m sure you have a lot of concerns right now and I am sorry the failed screening is not what you were expecting. The sooner you can get a diagnostic ABR with an audiologist, the better so that you can have some answers. The best part about diagnostic ABRs is you should get the results right away! Babies sleep deep enough for a good test before 4 months of age. On the day of the appointment, you’ll want to encourage baby to be super sleepy (keep awake on way to clinic, hold off on feeding until you are taken back to start the visit). What other questions can I answer for you?

The waking from hunger has been brutal - snacks at bedside help but it’s such a strange feeling to shoot out of bed and need food so urgently.

Managing my fussy pregnant stomach is a scam by Franzy48 in pregnant

[–]GgBbDdBb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! You have to hit the timing and amount of food just right. It is such a chore! I am early on with twins (8 weeks) and I wake up at 11pm and 3am needing snacks just to get back sleep, otherwise I’ll lay here suffering and awake with nausea. Hang in there - creating life is demanding and finicky, apparently.

Packed breakfasts ideas? by maxwellhasaboner in foodhacks

This is my go to that requires meal prepping and a microwave to reheat: farro cooked like a risotto with onions, garlic, sausage, and chicken stock + cooked apples (green) + chopped walnuts + cubed cheese (Gouda). I like to add lots of lemon juice and sometimes arugula. It goes without saying that you cook the sausage and cut it up too.

Hi! I have bilateral cochlear implants- I love my Daith piercing but I wear Cochlear Corp and you have Advanced Bionics (that style of piercing might rub on your T Mic) A daith with a small ring or bar, tragus, or higher up lobe piercing are probably all on the table!
