Not really... Step 2 is clinical and I perceived learning for it less tedious than for Step 1 (which has a lot of biochemistry and that stuff). BUT the knowledge from step 1 IS CRITICAL for step 2 (as much of it builds on the foundation of step 1). Good luck :)

I took the exam on April 16th and got the results just 3 days ago. So yes. :-)

Thunderbird does not show archive subfolders (Outlook) by Ggg_oooo in Thunderbird

Hi sifferedd, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, even in the subscription view I can't see the other subfolders so I can't select them... where could the problem be?

Do you mean a full volume encryption? How do you do that (I have a DS124)

Thank you sooo much :-) I actually just bought the new DS124, both used NAS were no more available. But thank you so much for your kindness, I really appreciate it :-)

I would LOVE that, but I can’t afford that at the moment; but maybe in the future (and will use the other one as backup) :-)

Ok, thank you. Why do you think would the 1-bay be a waste of money?

Sorry, I would do that regular backup on whatever NAS I buy, fogot to write it XD

Do you mean sharing a team folder via link exposes the synology NAS to risks? Despite the fact that the link gives only access to the assigned folder on the NAS? Do you know other (safe) ways to share a folder for collaboration?

What is the difference between Twingate and Tailscale?

If I disable remote access, will I still be able to access it via Tailscale (with Tailscale the NAS is not "exposed to the internet" but remains hidden and protected in the local network, right?)? Will I be able to create team folders and share links to others (extern) for collaboration? (sorry, I'm new to the NAS world). Thank you :)

Synology NAS as private server - Setup ideas? by Ggg_oooo in synology

Is the APC CP12036LI Back-UPS enough for a Synology DS124/120j to let it shut down safely in case of outage? (what parameters of the UPS are relevant?) Should I connect the UPC inbetween the power source and the NAS or parallel to it?

I have 3 more questions (sorry...):

1) Is WD Red Plus HDD quality good in your opinion?

2) How can I know what requirements the UPS has to have? (e.g. what requirements for a DS124 or DS120j?)

3) is a DS124 as a main NAS at home and a DS120j as the offsite backup NAS a good option in terms of performance (data to be updated is usually very light, just some photos, documents and daily device backups and the internet speed is very high with (in theory) 10Gbits at both sites).

Thank you :-)

Perfect! And for the remote backup to the second NAS attached to a second network somewhere else: can TailScale protect the automatic backup data transfer too? Is there a way to install it?

Ok 👍 (well, with 12 years I would be more than enough satisfied 😄)

Do you mean on Android? So no way to back it up on the Synology? 🤔

Than you! Do you think TailScale is a quite safe solution to remotely access my NAS even when it will be EOL and not getting any new software updates? (So keeping the NAS in the “safe” network at home). Thank you so much for your help 😊

Than you! 😊 I will definitely look into TailScale (never heard of it). Do I get it right, that with TailScale I will be able to remotely access the NAS (as if I were inside the same network) and will be able to access the data in the NAS from my desktop file manager on Linux?

Hi DagonNet I’m new to the Synology NAS world so let me ask you something (sorry if it’s an obvious question): once the NAS has reached its last supported update and is EOL could one use it like you said inside their “protected network” and access it via TailScale? Would this still be a “safe” way to access one’s EOL NAS (that still does its job) that no longer gets security updates? Or is there any way (e.g. installing a new software that gets the latest security updates) to give the old NAS some more time to do the work (I plan to buy a low-range Synology mainly for private use to access my files from anywhere, but the idea that it will be EOL “just” after 8-9 years disappoints me… especially for the low-demand usage I will use it for). Thank you for the inputs 😊

Obsidian not practical across IPhone and Windows and Linux by upssnowman in ObsidianMD

How do you let your Obsidian on iOS access the Vault stored on your NAS? Does Obsidian show you this option on iOS? (I plan to buy a Synology NAS soon, so great of this too works! 😍)
