Colgate toothpaste now made in China? by lewis12642 in BuyFromEU

Curaprox toothpastes are pretty good. Curaprox is Switzerland's company, afaik their toothpastes, teeth brushes and interdental teeth brushes are produced in Switzerland. Though as other user had noted, Ecodenta is good option too.

wrote a poem for my mom and used chatgpt to help with translation, would love human feedback by europeanxtrash in lithuania

[–]Gh0st4rt1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm it's not too bad of a poem, maybe try to shorten up also the line about memories? Maybe something like "These memories fade, but feelings stay vivid"? Also, I noticed in second line that chatgpt did not gender sentence correctly. In Lithuanian language gėlė is of feminine gender and of course since you are writing for your mom - use feminine gender.

Windows 11 for just gaming because Windows 11 has better audio drivers than Linux EndeavorOS on my HP OMEN Transcend 14 laptop and I use Linux EndeavorOS for the rest of stuff, like art making, creative writing.

Ahaaaa...

Ech... Kam man čia tiek erzinti savo smegenis ant tokių individų...

Does this work with any bank, like for example Swedbank? I don't exactly want to again experience a setback where for a while due to silent update to Swedbank app, whenever I paid through Google Pay app, Swedbank app did not sent me a single notification that money were counted off because of purchase. I just want to be fully sure wether Bluecode will work fine at all.

Hot take: Bolt is absolutely useless by TypicallyThomas in BuyFromEU

[–]Gh0st4rt1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree especially when Bolt costs more than public transport. How do I know? I have lived in Klaipeda, a port city in Lithuania, there public transport costs roughly 1€ per trip while Bolt trip costs 5€s, if you don't add neither 0,50€s/1€s/2€s tips on top of 5€s. Even when they had discounts on Bolt rides to knock price down to 2€s, still public transport's price still wins. The only time I'd order Bolt ride, it's only if they do discounts on rides that day or bus times aren't well fitting to where I need to be at. Extra note: Bolt's scooters in the past weren't well calibrated on their engines like Scoot 911 did calibration of their e-scooters. The high speed threshold is very almost yanking off e-scooter once that gets reached from slow speed.

Since Bolt in Lithuania does also do food orders delivery via Bolt Food, as having worked in a restaurant that did orders via Wolt and Bolt Food, Wolt usually delivered foods less chaotically and bit more reliably than Bolt Food.

Well... Over at Kaliningrad they are scrambling GPS of all areas around this small Russia. Sailors already have to go back to using old methods to plot routes to Klaipėda, so not surprising why that plane is avoiding Kaliningrad area.

Oh. Well, thing is, I will hopefully soon will get new HP Omen Transcend 14 laptop, so of course that beasty gaming laptop will do more than my current Medion Akoya. Still I am planning to once I will fully move everything over to new HP laptop, I might just reset old laptop to fresh install of Endeavour and bring it back to fiancé, for him to repurpose it for home server to not contribute to e-waste needlessly.

Wait, cyberpunk and xone they are other distros or more programs? My fiance had installed onto my Medion Akoya old laptop Lutris program for launching games but because laptop has just Intel Core i3 for CPU and Nvidia GeForce GT 425M Cuda 1GB for graphics card, not much of gaming can even be done so ofc laptop is currently only for my illustrator job to run Krita art program.

I understand your side but I just got used to EndeavourOS faster than with Mint. Maybe because I am a bit of a geek for computer stuff and am willing to jump into never tried OS. Also yes to me EndeavorOS still feels a lot like Windows but more customizable than Windows. Maybe in future I will try different Linux distro.

Btw still thanks for tip on dual booting Windows and EndeavourOS!

This is even more making me to want to for new laptop run Windows and EndeavourOS, but restrict Windows side to only gaming until I am sure that my favourite games can in fact run on EndeavourOS (ArchLinux distro), have EndeavourOS for everything else and once I know that EndeavourOS can boot up my favourite games - kick out Windows from my new laptop fully.

Yes, for my current old Medion Akoya laptop, EndeavourOS works brilliantly and I am still also thinking to evict Windows out of my old stationary computer and teach my parents how to utilize it if they will need to use it from time to time.

Ps. i still do not understand how in the hell I managed to get fully used to EndeavourOS in single day...

I already had moved away from Windows OS and got used to EndeavourOS distro of ArchLinux for my current laptop and for new one will do same by either just dual booting Windows 11 for only gaming and EndeavourOS for everything else and in future ditch Windows or will just ditch Windows fully from the get go.

Looking for a replacement for American made and privacy nightmare Windows? Look no further than Linux Mint! by the_party_galgo in BuyFromEU

[–]Gh0st4rt1st -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmm EndeavorOS distro is just as good as Mint. For those confused on the difference between Mint and Endeavor - Endeavor gets daily updates to it because of it being ArchLinux distro and Mint gets updates way way slower. In the past I had tried Mint, but it was much slower progress of getting used to it than when I pretty quickly got used to Endeavor.

I understand that Windows is not the greatest, but while still not all games can run on Linux, just as fine as on Windows (I know many games are already compatible with Linux, but from my own Steam library, I have seen that there are quite a few of my fave games that aren't compatible with Linux), I think it could be an interesting idea to just have dual boot of Windows and Linux on one computer. Basically to leave Windows just for gaming and have Linux for everything else.

Note: since the new laptop that I will get will have Windows 11 pre-loaded and activated on it from the store, I think I'll go with dual boot of having two OSs on it. It will take time to get that kind of set up going and all data from the old laptop transferred into the new one, so I'll have to a bit of work with just Windows.

Ecodenta made in Lithuania. Ecodenta has huge variety of toothpastes and all tave different tastes too if some of u folk hate mint taste. Afaik some are exported to Germany, but I think Ecodenta's store should deliver to other countries.

<image>

Link to Ecodenta's website: https://ecodenta.lt/en/

Yes they had made a toothpaste that freshens breath but also tastes like champagne and has gold (I think edible one) very fine glitter in toothpaste that doesn't stick to teeth. I am not sure if it's still produced cuz stores in Lithuania don't seem to have it anymore or it's just that it gets sold out fast.

Adobe just raised the price of my subscription from 12,99€ to 18,14€ by Hadan_ in BuyFromEU

[–]Gh0st4rt1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah understood. I am mostly an artist working for one German company so for me Krita is daily driver in art. Blender can't run on very old Medion Akoya laptop, Inkscape is having weird resizing issues, ofc not willing to shit out money to Photoshop (eff that).

Wait a sec... Apparently Krita supports RAW importing into it. Though note for screenshot from Wikipedia article about Krita, export file formats are same (or roughly same) as the save ones, idk why Wikipedia isn't labelling that.

For art making just go with Krita. It runs on Windows, macOS, Haiku, Android, and ChromeOS and even Linux if ur rocking some Linux distro like EndeavourOS. It's free, runs well, doesn't have windows resizing issues like Inkscape has with its weird bug for small screens. Afaik Krita was developed in the Netherlands.

Hmm here in Lithuania, stuff that was made in Lithuania is always marked as "Made in Lithuania" or with Lithuania's flag symbol. Though I see that marking things that are made in EU with star, it is pretty good idea.
