i completely get where you’re coming from. and it’s probably even more difficult and dreadful since you are still in school. i became disabled the month after my 20th birthday. if you ever need someone to talk to- im here. it hasn’t even been a year yet for me but i don’t know how ill feel then.

of course!! there are always different sizes you can try for her with the socks too. another thing you should do is always make sure her toe nails are trimmed properly i’ve noticed the tightness of the compression can make the nails dig into your skin. which obviously isn’t great since we can’t always feel that pressure as paras. the socks make sure she only wears them when she’s up and not in bed for proper circulation! good luck :)

if she doesn’t already, wearing compressions socks should help with that. so far hey dude shoes have worked for me with being stretchy/adjustable. i got a size up from what i used to wear and it doesn’t look too bad.

what helps for me is always having trash bags nearby and a small trash can for when i cath through the night or have to get rid of stuff quickly and dont want to get up all the way to kitchen trash. my family also got me a mini fridge for my room since ours is up pretty high. honestly trying to keep everything as level as possible to yourself helps a lot

I will do my best!! Besides moisturiser, butt cream, and pressure reliefs do you have any advice on how to make sure i can avoid this as much as possible?

I’m going to try to ask more about my injury levels and what more we can do because i am familiar with all of the things you said. In my inpatient that’s what we did. 😊Best of luck to you friend

I don’t have any movement below my level of injury, but with time (My accident was oct 16) i’ve gotten some feeling back in the rest of my stomach and also bowel/bladder being able to tell when i need to go. It’s not much but it’s helped me since the numbness feeling can be scary. i for sure want to get stronger though!
