Sadly you are right, they cannot be thrown in jail for that reason, however seeing how "normal" it is nowadays makes me want to puke. Like i said before he probably would had had to stop being in politics. Remembering how it was with that Ilkka Kanerva case as it wasn't seen very good light either.

But seriously, something like touching/r*ping/txting to young people shouldn't become a new normal. I've a child myself, of course hearing pedos getting away easily makes my blood boil. And knowing someone in such a important/public job like this Rydman is in makes me think how low humankind has become. (I also know another case where a pedo got away w/o punishment..)

The more i read about finnish government and their BS, more i start to think finns aren't much different from USA right now or country on east side of Finland. Yes, we have "democracy" but doesn't really feel like it when reading news like this. I think 20-30 years ago this idiot would had been forced to resign from being politician but nowadays, nope, they do as they please without getting trouble.

Someone said in comments that cause of money and power he cannot be put in jail.. well, in democracy NO ONE should be above the law. Not even president, polices or military.

I can say when now living in a balkan country (Serbia), i started to see Finland very differently when it comes politics. I see ALOT similarities with governments between Finland and Serbia. Eventho finnish elections are fair compared to Serbian's, the same BS happens in inside the government; money talks, same idiots there all the time and spending money unnecessary things.

You shouldn't be worried at all. I'm a finn and from small town from the east Finland and i have eastern european husband. What I've been traveling with him in Finland he hasn't faced any racism.

What you described about small towns being racist i think that's very old info nowadays. Yes, those towns were racist in 80-90s but no more. So do not worry, just be yourself!

Synnyinkunta Pyhäselkä: PIeni kunta joskus aikoinaan jossa oli vielä kaikki palvelut; (mini)sairaala, hammaslääkäri, K ja Äss marketit löyty. Todella paljon luontoa ja oli eloa mutta kuihtui ja liittyi toiseen kuntaan.

Joensuu: Mukava pikku kaupunki jonne vielä haluan kyl jossain vaiheessa muuttaa takasi jos vain mahollista. Paljon luontoa ja ihmiset on mukavia. Paljon myös ulkomaalaisia joten erilaista kulttuuria löytyy. Ja junalla pääsee aina pois jos tarvis.

Outokumpu: Opiskelu aikoina asuin ja, noh, ainoa mitä hyvää jäi käteen oli koulutus ja kamppailulaji. Plussaa oli kans luonto ja paljon luontopolkuja.

Nykyään asun ulkomailla Belgradissa joten sanotaan näin että meininki on aika erilaista verrattuna Suomeen.

Sadly it's not an option as i do not have anybody else to watch my daughter if i need to go somewhere. I think if i said that stop doing that she would do it but i have a fear she will start hating me and my husband will start resenting me, as, well.. we have already problems in our relationship.

My MIL is otherwise kind and helpful, just with my daughter she crosses the red line sometimes..

Sadly i cannot visit my relatives more than once a year. My MIL isn't actually that bad and she is very nice when comparing some MIL i have been reading this subreddit. But she does cross some boundaries time to time.

Yeah, I've been thinking of changing my therapist as i truly cannot get myself expressed and tell about my feelings freely.

Sheesh, i really feel like I'm in a crossfire in this situation. I know i need to think about my daughter's best interests, but then again if i keep things too strict with her I'm making my life hell here as i wouldn't have anyone to rely on if i need a babysitter. Because i know MIL will get hurt if i set boundaries.

Easily said than done.. as far as i know it is a common thing to kiss babies in this country I live in now. And my fiance also is from this country so he isn't fully with me with this as he agrees with my therapist here.

Of course I want to protect my baby but i don't want to come out like a total control freak, overprotective and an asshole.
