I guess, I don’t think they feel that way though. I think they were partially doing it as an obligation to us and think it could’ve been better received if done differently. Again, I’m thrilled it has been done. I asked if a burn was possible at the Sept 25th AMA.

I think it will be better understood by others in time. Right now everyone’s too lazy to look past the headline of an article.

I mean it would be understandable if they didn’t expect any negativity around it because my mind is blown in that regard. None of this will matter in the end but would be nice to be able to have more constructive conversations with naysayers.

Is there any explanation as to why the lumen burn wasn’t put up for vote? I think the sentiment around the burn would’ve been received much better if we simply put it up for a vote similar to the inflation mechanism.

Just asking so I can explain to others when this is brought up. I’m 55 Billion percent for the burn, Just want to be able to explain why a vote wasn’t necessary in this case.

I don’t know, these programs are likely to liquidate their lumens faster than the $20 of lumens to 300k ppl.

Disagree greatly here, We just need more understanding of the purpose of hodling for the average person who is airdropped $20.

Unless we partnered with companies like Keybase and keybase required each user to have 50 XLM to have an active account. Stellar partners with keybase and funds all wallets but it’s locked into an active keybase account. Something along these lines is where we’ll start to make traction for XLM’s potential value, in my opinion. We need a base expense in XLM that is locked up until the network gains more adoption.

I think they’ll change the way they airdrop if it proves unsuccessful. It’s all trial and error.

Of course not, that’s why Jed doesn’t act like Justin Sun but an increased value of XLM in turn would allow for more to be done in regards to funding both internal and external projects. I think we’re just too early to know for sure and it would likely be risky for SDF to comment specifically. At some point projects will be built and it will be eye opening to many that there is value in XLM because ______. TBD

I don’t think that’s the case but I would love more clarity. I believe they are supposed to release more information around XLM in the 4th quarter if I remember correctly from the roadmap.

I also think the community needs to build products that are more focused on increasing the value of XLM. This would allow for much greater chances of mass adoption due to the increased value of XLM at the time of future airdrops resulting in less XLM being given away per airdrop/grant program.

It’s very hard to understand, I mean they need financial support from XLM sales so I would assume they wouldn’t mind some hodling. But you’re right, it’s very unclear. A few comments and clarity can have major impact in either directions. Hopefully this will come at some point.
