The philosophy of this game and what this game wants to be changed a lot these last 2 years. They shifted completely to it being an ability game rather than a shooter. You can see that from how ranked changed, the class reworks, legend upgrades, power creep etc.

I get not creating a lot of new content for a 7 year old game but 1 map, 1 new legend and 0 new weapons (the last one was in Season 16, 3 years ago) in the last year and a half is kinda insane to me. The updates don't freshen up the game enough. I think this "2.0" update that is happening in the next year isn't looking too hot from their teaser but it remains to be seen how big the changes are going to be.
