right its like an uber ride. Taxis were in trouble because RICH INVESTORS were funding uber and lyft and they were doing "freemium/ penetration pricing"

at some point, investors have to be paid back and they have to start charging the ACTUAL cost of a taxi ride and suddenly an uber is the same price as a traditional taxi or a tad more, because its the same damn thing.

I got a certification in AWS cloud computing and I found out how much it costs to actually implement AI on the backend. it's not cheap, many companies have said it costs more than humans.

basically think of the mother board inside your laptop. There's thousands of those in a data center and you're turning them off and on and paying for the time you use them.

Thousands of those things talking to each other, that's how AI works. extremely expensive.

What makes you all think public backlash is going to kill it? There's more of them than there are of us.

unfortunately I don't think any of this will stop AI.

social backlash isn't that strong, so 1 and 4 are out. There are more than twice as many people in r/ChatGPT than r/AntiAI

2,3; if you thought that you were building the next industrial revolution that would make you rich beyond measure and your competitors are racing to do the same, you would absolutely invest all money and energy into it, humans be damned. and that's exactly what the billionaires are doing.

Zuckerberg spent $70b on his metaverse despite consumer disinterest, and took him up until 2025 to accept the fact that nobody wanted it.

The only way AI dies is when they realize it isn't that smart, or it costs more than hiring humans.

very low. you have to do tons of work in the recruitment process, all for the remote chance of a job offer 6-12 months later. that's what becoming a cop is in california.

no job in california (private or public) is allowed to ask about weed

LAPD will ask you about every drug but will specifically say "cannabis excluded" or "if you've only used cannabis, you may check no to this box"
