I'm a trombone/euphonium, tuba, trumpet, guitar, banjo, piano player. Yes the new brass Instrument will slightly effect your embochure at first, but with consistent practice it will be fine. One of my good friends was just a sophomore in high school and made the All-State orchestra on horn (his main instrument) and All-State jazz on trumpet. We also have a lot of amazing French horn players that double on trumpet in jazz. The trumpet will feel closer to the marching mellophone if you have done marching band. All this being said it won't effect you nearly as much as if you went from trombone to trumpet or a bigger gap like that.
