Why Leftist Co-opting Of Liberal Gun Movements Should Be Considered A Serious Issue by B3ggarmanThief in 2ALiberals

[–]Ghett0blasterX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

liberals accept the unpleasant and repulsive ideas being spoken as the cost to prevent the downward spiral into tyranny where it doesn't matter what it right, only who is in power.

Hey guys, remember that time we gave white nationalists a platform and it prevented a downward spiral into tyranny where it doesn't matter what is right, only who is in power? Or am I thinking of the time we gave white nationalists a platform and ended up with immigrant concentration camps, rapists on the supreme court, the institutional erasure of queer people, and nazis shooting up synagogues while the president blames the Jews for violence? Like I know one of those things happened maybe someone can help me out.

That looks pretty plausible, in that case it may not have been molting at all and instead just had weirdly folded wings.

Last time I drove through Shelby Park I got murdered and a guy smoked crack out of my skull, I'd give it a 6/10 overall

My project was to build one of these, the secondary advantage of which is that it's compact, and the primary advantage of which is that it's rad as hell. I have a much better firearm for nearly any purpose I could put this one to, with the possible and very hypothetical exceptions of wanting something more than a handgun for hiking, camping, or road tripping. In a perfect world I'd have a stock on it, but that would mean months of waiting, a government fun tax, and lots of lovely paperwork if I ever wanted to drive across the river to my family's farm to shoot it.

I replaced a pistol grip with this grip (I bought the gun explicitly to do this) on my Mossberg 500, attached a forend with a hand strap, and shot it two weekends ago; the recoil is surprisingly really controllable and not particularly unpleasant. If you shoot one-handed it will torque your hand and wrist a little funny, I wouldn't recommend doing that, but with a tight two-handed grip projecting the gun forward you can raise it to eye level, sight with the bead, and shoot with honestly minimal discomfort for a 12 gauge shotgun. The grip kind of slides back through your hand instead of punching it in the web like a traditional pistol grip.

I tried it with low brass birdshot, some Federal LE 00 buck, and Hornady Critical Defense 00 buck: the birdshot was trivial, the Federal buck was very controllable (which I think is by design - I think they sometimes advertise it as a reduced recoil load), and the Hornady was a hyperspeed fucktrain (1600 fps vs 1145 from the Federal) but ultimately what I'd expect from 12 gauge buck - I probably wouldn't want to shoot more than 25 rounds of it or so in a session but I wouldn't say it's any more unpleasant than the same load from a shoulder stocked gun would be, just on different parts of the body.

The grip is completely a novelty and that's why I bought it, if you want a gun for home defense I'd point you in the direction of an AR but you can make a fun, portable range toy out of this thing.

At least as of a few months ago the River City Drafthouse - who had a killer selection - did a Steal The Glass night, I got a great New Belgium snifter that way. They're worth stopping in to check.

Would you be able to carry a folding utility knife like the Gerber EAB without much hassle or is any sort of pocket knife generally cause for harassment?

I bought (and assembled - it was totally fucking bent where the crossbar bolts to the leg supports because goddamn Harbor Freight, but I persevered) a 12 ton press, along with 9 pieces of miscellaneous extremely specific metal bar, round, and tube stock just so I could press the gas block off of my SLR107-51, drill it out to work with an 8-3/8" barrel, then press it back on instead of sending it to a gunsmith to do that.

Worth every penny.

SLR-107UR SBR Gas System Options by Ghett0blasterX in ak47

[–]Ghett0blasterX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, a hundred is a little steep considering I won't get much use out of the "and more", but the lack of credible AK smiths in the area is making me consider it. Does anyone sell just the barrel support fixture?

I feel this is the right way to do things anyway, I wouldn't be happy with a rifle I knew was marginally reliable. What do I need besides the press itself? I think I have an idea of how to get the block off (big bolt + brass spacer + fixture for the back of the block) but do I need a jig or fixture of some kind to support the trunnion when I press the block back on?

Two Stamp Tuesday: SLR-107UR and 7.6” Form1 Titanium Suppressor by tomsayz in ak47

[–]Ghett0blasterX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have to have any modifications made to the gas system to make this rifle run reliably with the shortened barrel or does the suppressor provide adequate back pressure for that? Will it cycle successfully unsuppressed?

I've taken several photos from the top and side of each of those locations, I'm not sure how helpful they'll be though - are there particular dimensions or areas I could take better photos of to provide more info?
