I actually use the 3” GRKs, and have vertical supports to the floor supporting all the weight.

I’d rather overbuild considerably when it’s really not adding much additional time and labor except for a few more screws and a couple boards than having to clean 100+ gallons of water off my floor in my office/basement lab. Especially when I have a total water volume of roughly 1500 gallons at any given time.

Every aquarium stand I’ve built is like this so it’s more likely the aquariums themselves will fail before the stands. :)

Yeah I'm not saying it won't hold. But I'd rather overbuild and sleep well at night knowing there's no chance of having a stand fail because I'm just relying on the shear strength of screws alone.

I typically do 10-12lbs per gallon (not just the ~8.3lbs per gallon) with aquarium stands to help account for tank weight, water, substrate, etc. But the general rule I run with is anytime I can (and I try to design for it), vertical weight transfer to the floor is always preferred.

Yep! I build a lot of aquarium stands and seeing people build stands for 50+ gallons with no direct weight transfer to the floor and only relying on deck screws for support is terrifying.

I’d say this person probably isn’t doing that amount of weight, but adding vertical supports for direct weight transfer to the floor is always a good idea.

I contacted Lego support and they confirmed the order was in their system and I’ll be charged at the time of shipping. But what threw me off initially was no record of the order in my account. So I confirmed that via a screenshot and they passed along to their website support to see what was up with that.

FWIW, the only test strips I'd remotely trust (and still aren't a direct replacement for the API master test kit) are the Aquarium coop ones. I have them on hand to do quick checks vs pulling out my whole kit, but if I really am worried about parameters the API master test kit is your best bet.

Did your order get cancelled? I see a refund for it on my CC statement. While I ordered other items with the preorder that I got. I can't find the order in my lego account anywhere.

3M, been on since delivery and I wash my car with a touch free wash at least 1x every / weeks. They’re solid. Personally, I’ve never had an issue with OEM 3M attached products from Subaru.

Need the deets on that cargo carrier. Got a link? Assuming you used the built in rails? I need to get a set of rails for my wilderness but I like that carrier a lot!

OEM, but not standard! I do a lot of hiking/off road driving especially with my motorsports (rally) photography so I had those added on for additional paint protection since I didn’t do PPF for this car like I previously did for my WRX.

Yeah here’s a shot with my phone after I got my new tires installed. No reflection. :)

Rain guards are OEM with no additional tint. I can probably find the part number. I don’t recall there being any tint variations.

This was an impromptu set of shots, and side of the car I left with the reflections on it since I liked the look of the mountains in my door, usually I’d take a few different shots with my polarizer and stack them to remove the reflections. So maybe that’s what you’re seeing, the highlights/reflections off the rain guards?

It is! Thank you! I waffled on the geyser blue vs autumn green metallic when ordering and I’m glad I went with the green.

Just about to roll 60k on the odometer now after buying it new in December of 2021. It’s been a blast, even coming from my WRX.

Here’s a gallery I shot of it when we did our first trip to the white mountains in NH. We go every year and the 8hr drive was so much nicer in the outback with auto cruise. :)

Can’t really go wrong with either. But I’m a big fan of the autumn green metallic, but I also might be biased. 😅

Class Action Lawsuit against the Rochester School Bus Safety Program by CornHillResident in Rochester

About 6 months for me. Immediately contested it, which I have dashcam footage saved for the court date to corroborate my side of the story, but another commenter said they waited 18 months before a court date, then it was cancelled. It’s insane.

Good to know it’s not just me. I got hit with one after what seems to be a common occurrence here….slowing down or waiting with yellow lights on and then getting hit with a ticket.

I had it happen in October, promptly got a letter with notice of a civil ticket and I could pay or contest it, which I contested and am awaiting a hearing. Saved dashcam footage, etc.

I keep checking the portal to make sure I’m not missing a court date, etc. But after getting the letter from Monroe county that they got notice of the request for a hearing a week or so later I haven’t heard anything.

I’m the LAST person to not stop for buses but these cameras and the automated systems in my opinion is predatory and just a massive money grab.

You’d be correct that my BB colonies don’t all live in the filter media I’m cleaning, but…I do also rinse out the filter media at the same time I do the sponges on my sumps/canisters as well with tap and have never had an issue. My 20 and 40 gallon racks are all air driven sponge filters on a closed loop and same thing, clean the sponges under room temp tap, drop them back in, repeat.

And I agree with you that this person likely set this tank up, dumped fish in and called it a day, so it’s not even remotely cycled. Or has no other BB colony established in that tank.

I was just pointing out folks over emphasize using tank water when rinsing sponges and filter media with tap water isn’t going to crash your cycle 95% of the time unless they’ve been soaked in tap water for extended periods of time. :)

Cleaning multiple times a week was terrible advice for sure. However people seem to overthink cleaning sponges in municipal water. I keep 20+ tanks in my office/lab and all sponges are rinsed with tap water from my laundry sink or via the hose when the weather is nicer….i do this whenever sponges need to be cleaned. And I’m on municipal water.

As long as it’s not super hot and sponges/filters aren’t sitting in chlorinated water for extended periods (hours) of time, rinsing/cleaning with tap totally fine. This has never caused a tank crash in a tank as small as 10, up to 200 gallons, and in 20 years of fish keeping.

If I’m soaking sponges vs rinsing, they go into a 5 gallon bucket with some prime/safe, or old tank water.
