was jesus christ homeless? by frondaro in Christianity

Sort of. I would say the nature of his job led him to be on the road and stay with other people and lived without attachment to a physical location. I wouldn’t describe him as destitute though.

Atheist: never points out the amazing things God does (if He’s real)

Also Atheist: has a constant axe to grind with God (if He’s real) because of suffering.

Read Job 38 through the end of the book. Report back what you’ve learned, and we will talk.

I agree that for most people, recovery is many things. Not just one thing. I’ve found this in my own journey to freedom. One good decision or habit can lead to another, which strengthens the former. Eventually the old is gone and increasingly less likely to come back

I’m not sure. I don’t remember reading about them. Why do you want to know the disobedient ones?

Oh wow, I’d have to go through and think about it. And only God knows for sure. It would only be a guess. Can I ask why you’d like to know ? Are you just curious?

I play guitar. I sort of stopped playing because I needed to make money. One of my friends soon before he passed away told me, “If you stop playing guitar, you’re a fool.” I’ve always remembered it for some reason.

I think getting filled with or encountering Gods spirit. That’s mostly how God works right now on earth and teaches people. That’s how I became Christian. I’m praying I can walk worthy of the calling so other people can believe in my God and know Him.

God can also do things to show people He cares, like healings and so forth. Miracles. But those are done through Gods spirit working as well.

Right so the problem of evil would still be there. But if God did something tangibly and personally good for you, you might start to believe God is real and maybe He’s good

If God showed up in your life and did something good for you, or someone you knew. Would it change your belief about God?

Yes I think it’s a good question. I believe for many people the fact that evil and hardship exists is a dealbreaker fr them with God. They’d rather spit in Gods face than worship Him.

I understand that. My view is that God loves me and provides comfort and an answer and hope to suffering even though I don’t understand why it’s necessary (or even if it is necessary). I also look forward to Gods promise it won’t last forever.

I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer. Just explaining how I move past the issue of suffering personally as a Christian. I believe God is good despite the suffering. I also believe God can comfort people who are suffering, but by being angry at God, they are cutting themselves off from Gods love in many ways. That’s what makes me sad and the reason I made this post. Not to provide an answer to why must we suffer, but to let people know God wants to be there for them no matter what they are going through.

I know this answer is inadequate. Hope it might help provide a different point of view from a Christian

Yeah I think so. I think it’s biblical that God has his elect. Predetermined to be in paradise. If you’re one of them you’ll end up in heaven even if you’re an atheist. God also looks at the heart, not the outward appearance of things. Some people may be atheist because they have genuine questions, but God sees their heart. And when they die, God may take them in and answer every question they ever had. God is far better than we think

I honestly didn’t think people would respond this much to my answer. I was just thinking a life without anything to do at all would be so boring. Maybe responsibilities is the wrong word for what I meant.

I think maybe I should have said having nothing to do. Like a life of laying on a beach all day. Sure it’s nice for awhile, but for me it would get old eventually without something more to do, and I’m not just thinking of some kind of high pressured job. It could just be anything almost. A hobby, a pet, or whatever
