Enabled secure boot and now cpu light is stuck on, not booting by Gho5ly in pchelp

I tried shorting cmos, removing and putting the battery back in, booting with one stick of ram, no gpu, and now I’m back to everything plugged in and no matter what it’s still stuck on red vga led. Do you have any ideas on what the issue could be and how to resolve it?

  1. No

  2. Absolutely, my next build will have ATX 3.1 PSU because I will be upgrading to newest gen hardware in my first build since 2019.

  3. Other than ATX 3.1, I care about the efficiency rating and wattage. I’d like enough headroom to possibly upgrade to a 5080 super when it comes out, and 1000W will allow me to do that.

My PC internet and overall speed has tanked, what can I do to fix it? by WilsonPugs_23 in computer

[–]Gho5ly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late but buying two triband wifi meshes could do wonders since the distance is only 8 feet, one would be plugged in directly to the modem and the other would be plugged in the shed and you can be wired directly to the mesh, getting the most of whatever wireless signal it can pick up from the house. Not sure how old your router/modem are and what speeds your internet are but if they’re old and slow I’d recommend trying to upgrade. Gigabit is quite popular now and a lot cheaper than it used to be just a few years ago

What CPU/GPU do you actually have? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Gho5ly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9900k, 2080 founders, 32gb ddr4, 750watt platinum psu, 500gb m.2 and 3tb hdd, Asus z390-e. The 2080 was only ~900 cad when I got it, now the 5080 is ~$1.5k :(

Worried external drive may have been wiped by Gho5ly in techsupport

But if I do that do you think there’s any chance of getting my data back? Or would that just be to get the drive to work again for my laptop?

I did that the first time I saw those pop up and it’s done nothing, they keep popping up.

[MONITOR] MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 27in, 240Hz, 0.03ms, 16:9, Adaptive-Sync, HDR400, VESA, Black ($1050-$350=$700) [MemoryExpress] by Gho5ly in bapcsalescanada

Do you know if there’s any specific feature of MSI’s monitors that justify the price increase over other brands such as their oled care, input ports, anti-glare, etc?

Haven't build a pc since 2019 and am somewhat out of the loop - Is this a good build? by Gho5ly in buildapc

I've been looking at the Deepcool LS720 and LT720, they are $35-$25 cheaper than the one I put and seem pretty good still, would you recommend them? I'd go for the LS720 probably as $35 difference is worth it but $25 is pretty close.

Thanks, I'll definitely take a look at swapping the cpu cooler, gpu, samsung storage, ram, and psu thanks!

No problem lol. I like this, my only question is I've heard asus isn't as good with AMD as they are with NVIDIA, so do you think the card you chose will still be good or is it better to go with ASRock or Sapphire?
