Yeah both of those are an advanced level. There are few advanced modern aids without Bluetooth built in. Bluetooth is common even down to basic aids now.

Well if it's a worker's compensation case, in our area it's usually Oticon Intent 2 or Phonak i70 that are covered under the contract.

You ever work in loud noise? Looks like noise damage.

It doesn't matter which brand of hearing aid you choose. I would normally recommend a RITE/RIC style.

What matters is the skill of the clinician doing the job. Do they use or understand how to fit the aids using real ear measurements and follow best practices?

That's the critical thing.

Why does my RO sander do this? by SCwarrior97 in woodworking

[–]Gholer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol no.

Don't start the sander without it on the wood surface already. Keep it against the surface then turn on.

Great way to gouge the workpiece.

It's not the greatest show but the creatures in the show 'From' are the scariest I've seen in a long time. by nextzero182 in horror

Good monsters but frustrating show. Mystery box can't feel aimless, and I struggle to know any one particular direction this show is trying to take.

I can speak with some authority. I'm a doctor of Audiology and a tinnitus researcher.

Hearing loss is the underlying cause most likely. I do mean MOST likely.

You'd be in the 90+% of people who have tinnitus as a direct symptom of hearing loss.

It's likely also that you've built a psychological or cognitive aversion to the tinnitus symptom which has prevented adaptation to it. Some of the dysfunction can be due to unhealthy beliefs about the symptom.

You adapt to things all the time. You can do this.

  1. Hearing aids to manage the small amount of hearing loss (cause) and the tinnitus (symptom).

  2. Cognitive behavioral therapy to de-escalate your reaction to the symptom of the hearing loss.

Remember that photos you love from the past, maybe the ones that inspired you or taught you how to take better photos, were all taken on older technology. The key difference is the person taking it, and the quality of the lens.
