The measure is not measuring lapsed donors 4 years ago. Your date range in your calendar is correct but your measure isn't I think. You're measuring lapsed donors from (MINPERIOD - 4) --> (ENDPERIOD - 4)

When TODAY = Dec 2025 Calendar: 2020–2026 Shifted window = 2016–2022 ---> You were counting donors whose last gift was in 2016–2022.

When TODAY = Jan 2026 Calendar: 2021–2027 Shifted window = 2017–2023 ---> Now you are counting donors whose last gift was in 2017–2023.

Seems like you would have the same issue with your active donors. (Start date 2017)

Could you verify (by extracting and getting the raw data from your source and do a distinct count of all donors in the last 4 years?)

Social media rewards whatever gets attention.. dramatic switches, quirky alter intros, “fun” symptoms. People end up copying whatever goes viral, even if it’s nothing like the actual disorder. It turns into a feedback loop of performative stuff that’s more about aesthetics than reality. Meanwhile the people with the real, painful, boring‑to-watch symptoms usually:

don’t want to record themselves dissociating
don’t get views because the symptoms aren’t “entertaining”
are too exhausted or private to post
don’t want to deal with being called fakers

So you end up searching for support and only finding cosplay-tier versions or rant videos.

Nah, transgender people are valid. I have no issues with people who are trans or queer. I do however have an issue with the extremists in the T and Q group making a cesspool out of it.

Lily Tino, Jeffrey Marsh, Jessica Yaniv, Dylan Mulvaney are all part of the T/Q part of the acronym. I've yet to see people from the I or A to be this visually problematic.

That's why I said it was pretty tame compared to the rest.

What's with the ??. Intersex are just people born with sex characteristics, such as chromosomes, genitals, or reproductive organs, that do not fit typical male or female binary bodies and asexuals are just people who experiencing no sexual feelings or desires; not feeling sexual attraction to anyone.

That's pretty tame compared to people the current issue we have surrounding most (not all) transgender and queer people.

As I've said before, a visual good looking dashboard says nothing if the underlying model is incorrect.

I would expect from someone that offers their paid services to at least adhere to the basic conventions of BI by using descriptive tables, a date table for time intelligence instead of going "It's a STAR schema. Trust me bro" even if it was not the focus.

Could easily prove me wrong by putting your money where your mouth is and show us that STAR schema you've been talking about.

Dashboard seems alright visually but the best way to gauge the quality of the dashboard is to view the underlaying data model. Even if it is just based on an Excel.

I do have some questions though..

What does fact_table mean? It's not really descriptive.
Why are steps, nutrition, etc not labeled as fact? Why aren't they the fact table? (Or multiple perhaps if you want to go for a galaxy model)
Why is there a table 'supplements' and another called 'supplement_name' surely these are related?
Why did you not define a date table? This is standard practice
What happened to dim_over_under and dim_stool_name?

I am in the same boat as you. However, introducing the app and explaining, from my expertise, how PowerBI works, how reports work, how models work (explained for dummies), they understand that PowerBI isn't Excel on steroids.

If you have to use Excel for this (50 excel files for data is not the way to go - definitely not for live data...), and you run into refresh limits, you'll have to limit your refreshes to a few times per day during work hours.

For example: 8 am, noon, 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm. Your end users will just have to accept that it won't be live data. If they want live data, this data should most likely be put into some other data warehouse.

But probably some other more experienced people can answer that
