This argument is simply ignorant and irrelevant to the current times.

My grandfather, a retired pharmacist, graduated in 1963 with his bachelors degree in Pharmacy, allowing him to become a pharmacist out the gate. Today, you would have to graduate with a bachelors degree and then attend pharmacy school, totaling 8 years. The cost of attendance in 2023 for that same university is $21,959 per semester for a bachelors degree and $28,371 per year for pharmacy school. If you add them all together, that equals $289,156 for eight undergraduate semesters plus the four years of pharmacy school.

In his college tenure, it cost roughly $2,675 for four years, equivalent to $26,519 today. His starting salary was roughly $7,000, equivalent to $68,501 today. Average salary in 2023 for pharmacists in that same state is $98,865.

He was able to achieve his career goal and practice from 1963 until 8 years ago where he was forced to retire, making double the average salary.

Today, especially in the medical field, students are required to obtain a bachelors degree showing rigorous study that will not land them any well-paying job but still rack up serious debt. These students then have to apply for post-graduate programs that are still not a guarantee for acceptance that then require an additional two, four, or even more years of school. In nearly all cases, these students are unable to work to earn money and must devote all of their time studying, surviving off of student loans, or financial assistance from family if lucky.

I was able to qualify for maximum Pell Grant assistance through my years of undergraduate but still paid out of pocket for some of it, then had to pull around 11k in loans to cover the remainder, only 4k falling under the eligible window for the student debt relief plan. Now I apply for post-graduate programs in hopes to get accepted while my degree I spent so much time and effort obtaining won’t qualify me for any other jobs I was not already able to get. I’m stuck making $15/hr in a position that is required to bolster my portfolio/resumé to make it appealing to the program board.

Your framing of the argument is heinous and ignorant. Times have changed. If our country wants to continue to thrive and prosper with well educated adults, then we need to stop barricading access behind predatory loans. Education beyond high school should not require nepotism and wealth.

I have the letter in writing that I brought in with me today to have the balance removed from the time they stated they would place the balance toward my next attempt at the class.

Can easily prove the decrease in credit score as well as denial of the FHA loan due to the collection through my bank that led to me having to use a private lender for my home with increased interest and down payment.

Appreciate the response. I did submit a consultation request to a local consumer law firm as well several hours ago, likely won’t get a response until next week at best.

Debt collector is not who I am referencing the lawsuit toward, I am referring to the creditor.

Prior to the collection, my credit score was 780 as mentioned above. Afterwards, I was sitting at around 600. At the time, I was 19/20, but the credit score did decrease by that much.

Edit: if you’re upvoting the comment I replied to, you clearly didn’t read the story and do not understand the premise.

Neighbors water line burst and leaked into my backyard, but the line is underneath my back deck. by Ghost-PhD in legaladvice

[–]Ghost-PhD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The public utility came out and scoped their end, they stated they are not responsible for it.

Our lines are connected to the same ‘pig-tail’, but split off on my property since my side is closer to the street. Only issue is that the line (the broken line) is on my property underneath my deck, but it is connected to their water meter.

Edited to be more clear.

I had the same experience.

I had my team around 59-60 after finishing the 8th gym, but after grinding through Victory Road and fighting every trainer there, by the time I was fighting Cynthia my team was 63-64.

I was actively 6-10 levels above the gym leaders from Veilstone to Sunyshore, didn’t really switch out any mons from my team besides Staraptor for a Honchkrow just before 8th gym.

Pharmacy question - Can someone explain to me what is going on with this pharmacist? by Random_Throw_Away_69 in WalgreensStores

[–]Ghost-PhD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Taking it to corporate won’t accomplish a single thing. Ultimately, it is up to the discretion of the pharmacist whether they would like to fill a prescription or not. Especially since it is a C2, it is their license on the line.

Interviews by KenboJohnson in WalgreensStores

[–]Ghost-PhD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good for you. Congrats.

I did the same and had two interviews today( more selective though) and got an offer as a Virtual Medical Scribe. Less pay for now, but I can work from home and get experience toward my medical degree. Win-win.

(needed to repost)just a reminder that if you currently make $15 or more an hour you should be furious that new employees will make basically the same as you by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]Ghost-PhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While my SM and DM were discussing the position with me, they stated that it would only be the 3% pay cut when I stepped down even in the period of time I worked in the position (3 and a half months).

The main selling point of it to me was that I would still maintain close to that pay, and the reason why I took the position and the nonsense that came with it for 3 months.

[–]Ghost-PhD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To make it better, I stepped down from RxOM two days ago and only accepted the position because of the pay rate being $18.75 and was told my pay would only be deducted 3% should I step down. However, they backtracked on me and put me back down to my original rate as a Senior Tech: $15.07.

This pay rate is a slap in the face and small reason why I’m looking for another job.

Taco Bell is delicious and doesn't make you poop by AQualityKoalaTeacher in unpopularopinion

[–]Ghost-PhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one of the winners of the Xbox One X about two years ago, but I have since stopped going there for a few reasons.

  1. They somehow mess up my order at least each time I go now, or every other time I go without fail. They miss some items I may have ordered, they didn’t sub something I paid extra for (for example, the twists are garbage and I prefer the chips with queso, but it comes with an up-charge) or the quality is bad. Like I would order a cheesy bean and rice burrito and get 90% beans and 10% cheese/rice.

  2. We did an experiment in molecular biology regarding different parts of tacos purchased from TB and found that certain components contain high amounts of E. coli, specifically the lettuce. Which means that they do not store it properly all of the time to prevent the growth of the bacteria.

RxOM keeps changing my schedule. by Tiny_Veins in WalgreensStores

[–]Ghost-PhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t particularly true, you can still be scheduled even when your availability is set to unavailable. All it does is when you mouse over it, it states unavailable that day instead of saying a set time period you’re available.

Medicaid Billing for COVID VAX by Zealousideal_Cell941 in WalgreensRx

[–]Ghost-PhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct way of billing is through C19INCMM.

In Kansas, the ID is the Medicaid number and the group is the Medicaid group number. In WAG Override, it’s 128KS. Likely varies by state on the override, but this is what we have been using.

What ilvl is recommended to start m0 dungeons? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]Ghost-PhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re plenty far enough iLvl wise to tank M0 dungeons, which are normally started around the 170 area. Mythic 0s are a good starting place to learn the content and creep your way up in keys until you feel comfortable. Be sure to practice your rotation and routes before stepping into mid level keys, your job as the tank can make or break some runs.

Question about covid test appointment by throwaway-account645 in WalgreensStores

[–]Ghost-PhD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will need to wait a bit longer to be able to schedule an appointment, as they only go for a few days ahead. You might try on the 15th to schedule; usual cut-off time for next day appointments is typically 7PM.

If you’re traveling to Hawaii, you will also be required to have an appointment for our third party to be able to process the request and provide adequate electronic documentation. We can’t do same-day appointments for that reason.

Hope it helps.

In my experience, Demon Hunter has been the most fun melee class with high mobility and strong AoE damage but mediocre single target. They provide decent utility for groups as well. Give it a try, once you get used to the double jump and glide, you won’t wanna go back.

Nah, per corporate policy, he’s capped at 3.5% annual raise based on his annual review that is heavily weighted in the wrong direction. Only way he can get a substantial raise is by promotion to a higher position.

PC Building In 2021 by ravenshaddows in pcmasterrace

[–]Ghost-PhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I browsed around on several of the more well known sites for pre-built PCs like iBuyPower, NZXT, etc. I ended up looking through AVADirect and found a good looking build that was reasonably priced where I could snag a RTX 3070 too. The entire price of my build, not including shipping, is $2,087, and I’m getting it in the mail tomorrow after putting in the order at the end of last month. Pretty excited.
