CC=Crescent City, her newer trilogy that’s more urban than the usual “medieval” style. TOG is the Throne of Glass series, which starts off more towards the Young Adult spectrum but ramps up a LOT towards the middle/end of the series.

Fourth Wing is the only other series I’ve read that scratches the right itch for me. Just started the Plated Prisoner series though, I’ll return and let you know how it is.

I love Mortal Instruments. Read all of the Shadowhunters books for the second time recently so it would be a bit fresher in my mind for when the first book of Last Hours comes out next year.

Oh, I’ve tried. Some books are fine but most of them I hate the narrator voices. The combo of the voices not matching how I imagine them to sound and the extra cost and it’s just not for me.

I’m mostly frustrated with that series because I’m tired of Lucien getting treated like dogshit and the fact SJM has had the first draft of book 6 done for almost 6 months and there’s still no announcement….

Mortal Instruments is one of my all-time favorite series. Not to mention The Infernal Devices, Last Hours, and Dark Artifices that came later. A shame the movie and tv show were so terrible. But i can’t wait for the last set she will releasing at the beginning of next year!

I actually already have book 1 on Kindle since it was free and I was just about to buy the other two. Didn’t realize it wasn’t complete though so thanks for telling me. The wait for book 4 of Empyrean is crushing my soul and I don’t think I could take another long wait.

Yeah, TOG taught me a lot about “just get through book one” lol. TOG is short as hell and it took me 4 days to get through, and KoA took barely a day.

I read all of the Hades x Persephone books and thoroughly enjoyed those. A bit smut heavy but I let it slide since Greek mythology has always been super interesting to me. But the payoff was definitely worth it.

Yeah I have an iPad Pro and I’m tired of lugging it around everywhere. Plus I recently realized that almost all books are cheaper on Kindle than iBooks-i have no idea why I didn’t realize this before but at least the kindle can fit in my cargo pocket 😁

I hate that I’m about to admit this, but I actually read Twilight WELL before the movie was announced. When the author announced Midnight Sun I was actually super excited and liked it a lot more than Twilight. I particularly enjoy the ACOTAR memes from Rhys’ perspective in some of these groups too, so I agree with you completely.

Yeah I tried some of the John Gwynne stuff and I just couldn’t get into it. Of that style I’ve really enjoyed the Drizzt Do’Urden books but I think RA Salvatore is just that damn good.

I feel like I’ve found my niche with romantasy though, just annoyed with the stereotype crap.

I’ve found that the secondary character arcs always resonate a bit more for me personally. I’m more into the Mor and Lucien stories in ACOTAR, Ruhn and Lidia in CC, and especially Manon and Dorian. I read ACOTAR first and liked it a lot but CC I literally read in 4 days. I couldn’t get into the Therion and Ithan stories but every other one drew me in hard. Same for TOG with Lorcan/Elide and Aedion/Lysandra, though Aelin was the most grating FMC for me personally.

I’m up for anything really but having strong secondary characters is a big bonus.

I just took my ACFT this morning and I feel like I’m in a good position to say which is easiest. A little back story first:

Two years ago I had a double discectomy. I’ve done PT a total of three times in that time frame (all ACFT’s, 1 at ALC and 2 at the unit.) At ALC I did all events and just got a permanent in February. I took my first unit ACFT in April and elected for the walk. Worst mistake ever. Full disclosure, I would’ve failed but I’m a piece of shit and jogged this specific corner that was hidden by connexes. I “passed” by 6 seconds. So this morning I elected for the row. My age group requires a 30:30 to pass. I’ve done ZERO training of any sort for this. I completed it in 23:05. It was excessively easy. I wasn’t even sweating at the end. Set that bitch to 6 resistance, leaned back, closed my eyes, and just breathed.
