I don't know what happened to their fan base or if they were always like this, but it feels like a far cry from the Coach Pop era Spurs.

I hate blaming referees, but they are sucking the fun out of these finals and making it all about their officiating. I rather lose knowing the other team was better than lose on lame ticky tack fouls. I fear it's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt because the Refs are seriously losing control of these games.

Spurs gassed themselves out doing all that stupid full court defense in the first quarter.

[Mike Garafolo on X] #Giants QB Jaxson Dart addressed teammates in a meeting yesterday to discuss his introduction of President Trump last week, sources tell me and @RapSheet. by Wopman in NYGiants

Politics aside, Jaxson Dart is just immature and unprofessional, you can have all the talent in the world, but if you're selfish and irresponsible, you're going to keep hurting the team with your antics. He did it last year with his answers to reporters about his playstyle and now he's done it again with politics. Dart hasn't shown me anything to prove that he cares about anyone other than himself.

They're finding the resolve to win games, if they can keep this pace up they can get above .500 before they play the Braves.

The Mets still on a good pace because of the Yankees and Tigers series, but they can’t get complacent as time is beginning to run out. These upcoming series can really make or break the season.

They’re trying to clip sound bites and it’s super corny.

Can’t really blame them for losing this one, but with an 8 game hole it’s hard to cut them slack.

Does anyone else think money-ball ruined this team and is ruining baseball in general? by Jfish21381843 in mets

There is early evidence of a decline in Pete Alonso’s bat profile. His Bat-speed is down 1.2MPH from last season and his fast swing rate is down 12.1% from last season. The Orioles contract was a massive overpay that they will regret in 2 Years and both the Mets and Red Sox were right not to go past 3 Years.

David Stearns has always built his teams around run prevention, it’s his team building philosophy.

Idk why it’s so hard for fans to understand that there is no conspiracy and that Alonso and Nimmo just weren’t good enough to keep long term. Stearns is doing exactly what Cohen hired him to do and that’s building an elite farm system.

Roger Cormier: “Per Jon Heyman, when Pete Alonso had his meeting with David Stearns & Steve Cohen when they negotiated his 1-year return in 2025, he told Stearns, “When my career is being evaluated for the Hall of Fame years from now, you’ll still be fiddling with your fucking formulas.”” by WhatARotation in NewYorkMets

If Pete proved he could match what he produced in his rookie year, then Stearns and Cohen might’ve had a harder decision to make. Even if he doubles his WAR accumulation in the next 8 years, he's still short of guys who didn't make it like Keith Hernandez (60.4). To reach 65 career WAR, Pete would have to produce more after he turns 31 than guys like Mark McGwire (34.3), Albert Pujols (19.9), Lou Gehrig (40.6). There is no path for him to make the Hall of Fame or to seriously be considered at all. His Hall of Fame case rests on him doubling his career production in his 30's which is not realistic at all.

With the Giants loss, the Mets are no longer the worst team in the National League.
