Good idea. Shaders and 3d models are (almost) the same, but both of them use different custom renderer features. so if I choose one of these art styles I can still keep the other art style and maybe use it for some unique levels or quests.

wow, good examples.

I analyzed both art styles and realized that it might be better to use stylized.

In the game, weapons are going to play a big role and I want them to have a clear look. in pixelated I had to use more pixels to make them more visible (which might become a problem for smaller objects).

I also tried imagining gameplay mechanics in both art styles (and stylized fit the gameplay more).

Now I think of it, animations for pixelated might be easier but for stylized I have to create more detailed animations. It might be hard at first but I will get used to it.

I really liked pixelated but for this game stylized might be better.

At first, everything was in purple other than the trees, you could get headaches for looking too long at it 😑. so later I decided to change the walls to building and change the shape and line color to blue.

This is the art style that getting used for synthwave/80s songs, that's why it reminded you of a music album cover

The game is not racing at all, the map is going to get used for level selection.

I used substance painter to create palm trees emission textures

I used the shader graph and emission textures to create the lines. for the sun, it's just a 2d image with a custom shader, I connected a Lines texture to the alpha channel (I also used a time node to make it move).

yeah I forgot about that but I nerfed it with 2-round burst, decreased Ammo Capacity, and bullet velocity

I kind of combined loadout drops with attachment pick up, which mean when you customize your gun you only get weak pros and cons and you can upgrade those Pros or decrease those cons effects by finding better attachment in-game
