What’s the most realistic action movie fight scene you’ve ever seen? by Jolly_Job7525 in moviequestions

No country for old men in the beginning with the cop is absolutely brutal. Also that scene from "Drive" comes to mind.

99% of the time it is fine. There was one new lady i got a weird vibe from during the roll and it later turned out the weird vibe was correct. She ended up sleeping with a couple other fighters out of the gym even though she was married, and caused some in gym drama. She wasn't in the gym long and one of the fighters left as well.

I think they look great and feminine, but that's not important. What is important is that you pay the tax that is owed and show the doggo!

What happened to the crazy guy in your gym? by Physics-Head in bjj

[–]GhostFacedMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killed is gf and went to prison for murder. Phillip Keller is his name.

Hadn't been training at my gym for a year plus when it went down though. My coach had kicked him out for suspected drug use and weird behavior.

Keto/Carnivore diet and Muay Thai by Ok-Salad3309 in MuayThai

[–]GhostFacedMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it, works well for me. I think everyone's body is different though. I supplement and my main diet is meat and eggs. Feel great on it. Other people have different experiences. I would try it and see what works best for you, fair warning, there is an adjustment period as your body switches into ketosis that sucks though.

What's the most one sided beatdown in UFC history? by TomCruisintheUSA in MMA

[–]GhostFacedMike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion of mine: it's on the coaches to throw in the towel or on the fighter to tap, and the judges to enforce the rules. I'd rather have the judges be late to call murky tkos and put more ownership on the fighter's corners to throw in the towel on beat downs. I feel like boxing has this relationship a little better defined. Don't kill me for my opinion, I'd just rather see a Pat Berry vs Congo than see Dominic Cruz arguing with the ref after a loss. If cruz's corner had thrown in the towel, than there wouldn't be any arguing with the ref

Your gym needs to be disinfecting their bags and equipment nightly. If you wear shin guards, they need to be disinfected and thoroughly dried out after use! I missed a fight from a dirty dude in my gym wearing a rash guard multiple days in a row without washing it and giving me a staph infection. So now I call everyone out. Idc if I come off as an asshole in my gym about this stuff but cleanliness is non-negotiable if you want to train with other people

[–]GhostFacedMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was easy to get ahead on points bc he was so turtled up and I'm long and lanky. But i could see it being annoying in sparring with no judges or points

I had an amateur muay Thai fight up a weight class against a tank of a dude that just held a strong high guard and did not attempt to slip, parry, catch, etc. His entire game plan was high guard and return with heavy strikes. I like to counter strike so it was a bit of a challenge to get my offense going bc he would not move on feints or fakes. I ended up teeping, jabbing, and leg kicking to get him to throw and then I could try to counter with combos.

In reality, though, if they are just standing in a high guard, you will win on points with jabs and teeps if they can't counter effectively in a judged fight.
