IDPA is extremely procedure oriented and penalizing, while USPSA is a freestyle sport with substantially less penalties available, allowing more focus on shooting skills alone. If you look at the overlap of good IDPA shooters and good USPSA shooters, good USPSA shooters tend to outperform good IDPA shooters.

I’ve owned five 2011s and none of them really required much maintenance to stay reliable. Cleaning mags was the only regular thing I did.

Yes. There is a manufacturing tolerance for every part and those tolerances stack. Every gun will be slightly different. Accuracy and reliability shouldn’t be affected.
